OVERVIEW: Assessing tonight’s Inter Dominion Pacing Consolation is no easy task given almost every horse engaged here has been tucked away playing cameo roles through the heat phase of this series. At the end of the day the best way to play this high-level FFA is to stick with horses that have thrived and improved as the ID has progressed and to that end JOES STAR OF MIA (8) looks a clear top pick. He was set a Herculean task on night one of the ID but his efforts at Ballarat and particularly Cranbourne were very good and he was a highly rated player approaching the series as a whole. His pseudo-stablemate ELLMERS IMAGE (1) is another who has improved as the series has progressed as has another NSW visitor in VILLAGE WITCH (9). At a massive quote MISTER WICKHAM (4) is also worth considering as there was genuine merit in his last two performances while MY ALPHA ROCK (5) also goes into Quads if for no other reason than the fact he’s bordering on certain to lead.
