In line with the Victorian Government’s public health directions requiring authorised workers, including those in the racing industry, to be fully vaccinated from tomorrow (Friday, November 26, 2021), Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) advises the following.

From tomorrow, the participants’ bubble will be removed at all race meetings. Fully vaccinated spectators (including owners) and licensed participants will be able to move freely about Victorian harness racing venues. Owners will have access to stalls and viewing areas around the stalls, and interactions on raceday with a trainer and/or their staff will be permitted.

Evidence of fully vaccinated status or a medical exemption is a condition of entry to harness racing tracks and training facilities. Therefore, any participant who is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or does not have a medical exemption cannot attend a race meeting in Victoria in any capacity from tomorrow (Friday, November 26, 2021).

A digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate (or other form of acceptable vaccination status evidence or medical exemption) must be presented upon arrival at a race meeting to be granted entry.

Importantly, COVID-19 raceday protocols will continue to apply, including physical distancing requirements and properly fitted masks to be carried at all times and worn where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

All participants are reminded that they should NOT attend race meetings if unwell.  They should get tested and refer to www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/checklist-contacts if they have symptoms or suspect they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
