Trial 1: - The William Cole trained WANTALINGA DREAM, which hasn’t raced since December, easily won the opening trial but he is the winner of five races and was taking on the maiden performers. ARGY BARGY finished in second position. He has been showing some ability at the races and finished fourth at Cobram last outing but he hasn’t been very fluent in his gait. JUKEBOX JET (Rock N Roll Heaven – Beautifulsmile 1.59.2, $8,868) was the only unraced pacer in the trial and finished third ahead of SHEZA DE JAY.

Trial 2: - MA KATIE is a smart filly when she puts it altogether. She caused a false start at Echuca last outing and eventually finished unplaced. She won the second trial over SPECIAL DREAM with ELSUS BABE finishing in third position. The trotter LORD LOHKI came in last of the four runners.

Trial 1: - BLAST AWAY was caught without cover early but progressed forward to find the lead at the 1400m mark and was always in control. He dashed away in the straight to win by a large margin. PUOPOLO pushed forward to race without cover and was in that position for most of the journey before getting a breather on the back of BLAST AWAY in the back straight on the final occasion. He held on for second in front of SYSTAMATIC, which was three back on the markers then into the one out and one back trail. TERROR BULL GIRL led early then took cover and dropped out to finish a distant fourth. CAESARS REIGN (Julius Caesar – Miss Rainmaker 2.1.6, $21,120) paced very roughly early and was tailed off for the majority of the trip.

BLACKBOOKER: - Blast Away
Trial 2: - HAPPYASLARRY began quickly to find the lead and rolled along at a genuine tempo. He got well clear before the home turn and scored comfortably. PRETTYPUD settled four back on the inside and remained on the markers for most of the trip to run into second. DON’T PLAY GAMES was slow to move and missed the start by approximately 15m. He settled down last and came out three horses wide from the 800m mark. He batted into a distant third. POLONIS OUR MATE was three back on the markers and galloped with 700m remaining. He recovered to beat home ROCKING WROXTON (trailed leader) and RUBY REACTOR (without cover)

Trial 3: - WITHOUT HESITATION settled three back on the markers, moved to the outside approaching the home turn and dashed home to secure victory. SPRINGFIELD SHADOW began well from the pole position to lead and held down second in the run to the finish. CALEDONIAN ROBERT settled down last and picked up third ahead of KING RAFA, which trailed the leader before moving up without cover with 700m remaining.

Trial 4: - SMYNANNA MICKEY led early before taking cover behind VELOX EQUUS. She enjoyed a nice run in transit before coming out wide in the home straight. She picked up VELOX EQUUS close to the line to win narrowly. VELOX EQUUS had little peace when leading but he does usually like rolling along at a solid tempo. He went down fighting to lose by a head margin. ADVANCE ACADEMY settled down four back on the markers and ran into third position. NORTHTOALASKA settled three back on the markers in the early stages but wanted to race fiercely and moved away from the inside to race without cover. He continued to race keenly in the breeze and the effort took a toll on him as he dropped out from the home turn. ULTIMATE PLEASURE (Artesian – Ultimate Queen 2.4.0, $7,649) raced without cover early, ended up one out and one back but was struggling from the bell and came in a long last.

Trial 1: - MACELLI was able to lead all of the way and take out the opening trial. She began quickly to lead comfortably early, set up a slow tempo and finished off in a reasonable final half. SAFARI CHEER settled three back on the inside and came away from the markers with 400m remaining. She loomed up as a winning chance but just peaked on her run in the final 50m. KINGOFTHESTARS settled sixth on the markers and came to the outside to face the breeze with 600m remaining. He battled away for third just in front of EASTON FOXGLOVE (4 back markers). ALEPPO MURPHY missed the start by 20m and settled a clear last of the seven but was able to trot into fifth from VAPAR GRIN (5 back markers) and TELL NOBODY (Trailed leader).

Trial 2: - LOLA DEVEREAUX trailed the leader in the early stages before being shuffled back one position further at the mile marker. She moved to the outside with 700m remaining before running to the lead turning out of the back straight. She sustained the run in the straight to score nicely. BROCKS BEST was able to stride to the lead in the early stages before taking cover behind DARK CLOUD. He was held up for a run when DARK CLOUD tired before coming to the outside in the home straight and finishing determinedly for second. QUAKER MAKER (Quaker Jet – Gay Truscott) settled down in last position and switched back to the sprint lane in the latter stages to run into a distant third. CEEJAY SUCCESS seemed to have every chance in fourth where she settled four back on the markers and worked into the one out and one back trail behind the eventual winner. DARK CLOUD missed in the score up and lost approximately 20m before firing around the field to lead in the back straight. The early effort took a toll and he faded from the 600m mark.

Trial 3: - WONGA LAKE trailed the leader ANNALISE (Mach Three – Art De Triomphe 1.58.8, $11,598) in the early stages before moving around to run to the lead with 1300m remaining. He rolled along at a genuine tempo thereafter and was able to dash clear and score comfortably. ANNALISE led out then took a trail. She raced greenly at times but was able to hold down second position. SIMPLY HEAVENLY (Rock N Roll Heaven – Machabiba 1.56.8, $60,525) was without cover for the majority of the trip and tried hard for third. REEKO REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Pink Lily 2.3.7, $5,881) followed SIMPLY HEAVENLY throughout and finished last of the four runners.

Trial 4: - LAY THE SMACKDOWN (Rock N Roll Heaven – Massimo Miss) pushed forward to find the lead and ran along at a very genuine tempo. He was able to establish a big break on his rivals and win impressively by a large margin. HEAVENLY BELLE (Rock N Roll Heaven – Sweet Memphis Belle 2.3.3, $5,560) tried to hold onto the back of LAY THE SMACKDOWN but started to struggle with that task from the half mile marker. She was still able to hold down second by a large margin. SHESMYBABY (Heston Blue Chip – Maybebaby 1.57.4, $25,490) settled in third but a large distance from the leading pair. She just held down third spot in front of BLOSSOM DELIGHT (Betterthancheddar – Libbiemack 1.55.3, $78,512), which was last of the four throughout.

BLACKBOOKER: - Lay The Smackdown
Trial 5: - DEALERS KNOCK began just as quickly as the mobile and led by fifteen metres before the field reached the first corner. He continued to run along at a genuine tempo and built on his leading advantage, running his rivals ragged and scoring by 70m. SURBITON PRETENDER was in second position throughout and easily held off his other three rivals. SPIDEREVE was three back on the markers and finished third and NOOPY ENFORCER was four back on the markers and finished fourth. NOOPY ENFORCER did ruin his chances in finishing closer however as he galloped with 500m remaining and lost 15-20m. JOHNFRANCIS settled down last, tried to move up without cover from the 900m mark but got tired over the latter stages and finished last of the five runners.

Trial 6: - COURTLY COURAGE (Courage Under Fire – Royal Jinx 2.0.9, $5,588) settled three back on the markers and switched back to the sprint lane in the home straight. He accelerated nicely to drive through and score from the early leader MORE THAN A WOMAN (B G’s Folly – Iza Precious Lass), which has been trialling well at Maryborough over the past few weeks. DICKIE MACRAY (Shadyshark Hanover – Macray Amore) trailed the leader and came to the outside on the home turn. He tried hard for third with SHADY HANOVER being last of the four runners but not too far from the winner. She tried to angle in behind the leader on the first turn but was unsuccessful and was forced to restrain to the rear of the field.

Trial 7: - SURBITON ARMISTICE settled down last of the four runners, moved up without cover from the bell and hit the lead on the home turn. He had to stave off a challenge from HANGING ON A DREAM late and was able to kick on and score narrowly. HANGING ON A DREAM settled in third position, moved away from the markers to be one out and one back and picked up good ground late to miss out narrowly. THE NIGHT KING (Danny Bouchea – Motu Paulina) led and finished in third position with BEWARE THE FURY (Majestic Son – Calder Fury 2.6.2, $25,841) being last of the four runners after trailing the leader and galloping when seemingly coasting on the home turn.

Trial 8: - LOVEE DOVEE (Love You – Sister of Sonoko 2.3.3, $14,103) stepped away safely but it was an extremely slow start by the two juvenile trotters. She was behind the leader LUCY SAWYER (Tennotrump – Annies Last 2.9.2, $4,508) early then was left in front when that filly broke stride and remained a long way clear after that. LUCY SAWYER stepped to the front but trotted roughly and galloped, losing a lot of ground with 1200m remaining. She trotted for the remainder of the trial but was always a long last after that.

Trial 1: - STRAIGHT UP has only had the one career start to date and that was an unplaced effort at St Arnaud but he was able to take out the opening trial from LYDIA LOVEDAY (Art Major – Shy Star 2.3.6, $4,676), which is an unraced filly for trainer Geoff Senior. WESTERN BOUNDARY finished third and STELYN KISSES (Framework – Perzest) was last of the four runners.

Trial 2: - The son of Restrepo URGOODBOY (Restrepo – Lucys PrIde 1.58.9, $102,452) was able to claim the final trial ahead of the former Queensland pacer TIC TACT, which did show gate speed and some ability in the Sunshine State. The trotter ICICLE finished third with SHEEZA PONY running in last of the four runners.

Trial 1: - HARRY OVENS (Bettors Delight – Harrys Lass 1.58.5, $118,075) was able to trail the leader and use the sprint lane to get up and win narrowly from CRYSTAL FLAME (Courage Under Fire – Crystal Reign 2.3.3, $33,714), which settled down last and moved up without cover from the 500m mark. HANNAH HALL (Blissfull Hall – Sickle Mond 2.0.4, $67,626) tried to lead throughout but wasn’t beaten by far in third (last) position.

Trial 2: - RAMBLENROLLER showed good gate speed to lead and ran along at an even tempo. He was clearly the class runner of the trial being a National Ratings 63 assessed pacer and he was untroubled in scoring. DEL PORT (Bettors Delight – Kateleens Passport 1.58.1, $33,165) trailed RAMBLENROLLER throughout but he was able to stick on gamely to be beaten by only five metres. Considering he is an unraced qualifier and RAMBLENROLLER has won fourteen races, he did perform extremely well. LUANA STARZZZ (Four Starzzz Shark – Night On Line) began slowly and never recovered, finishing a good distance away from the leading pair.

BENDIGO 17/02/20
Trial 1: - The four runners all stepped away safely from the standing start with JEDSTAR leading then taking cover behind MAR PACIFICO with ENDSIN A PARTY in third position and TRUMPIT LIL (Tennotrump – Ourlittlelil 2.3.7, $32,944) settling down last. MAR PACIFICO cruised around to win the trial untouched with ENDSIN A PARTY running past JEDSTAR late and TRUMPIT LIL remained at the tail of the field throughout.

Trial 2: - YELLOW BOW (Pet Rock – Brooke Fraser) was able to shoot to the lead in the early stages and held off all of the challengers to score comfortably from ONECROWDEDHOUR, which trailed the winner throughout and MAGIC SMILE (Grinfromeartoear – Cobargo Magic 1.56.1, $82,919) was three back on the markers and finished in third. MISS DUNCAN (Alta Christiano – Scented 1.58.0, $35,988) settled four back on the markers and moved into the death seat at the 600m mark. She finished fourth with MADAM REACTOR coming from last of the six to pick up fifth in front of MOOCA (5 back markers) (Courage Under Fire – Jazz Opera 1.58.6, $38,093), which was moving to the outside at the 700m mark but struck trouble and galloped.

Trial 3: - GRAEMES WISH trailed the leader FLAMING FIVES and obtained an inside run before the home turn. He accelerated through to hit the front and was able to secure victory by a metre. FLAMING FIVES enjoyed a nice run before hanging away from the markers approaching the home turn. He did kick back on the line but had to be content with second placing. PICKLES MAGEE (Majestic Son – Our Flash Girl 2.3.4, $38,675) settled down four back on the markers and went a little wide on the home turn. He ran home fairly well for third in front of MAJESTIC SPEED (5 back markers) and the juvenile pacer CANSHEDANCE (A Rocknroll Dance – Thisiswhoiam 1.56.1, $46,384) dropped back to last after being three back on the markers throughout.

Trial 4: - PAYING YOUR WAY showed good gate speed to lead and set up a reasonable tempo. He kicked clear on the turn then just held off the late challenge of NISHABRO, which trailed and used the sprint lane. MOONSHINE LINDA settled down in fourth position before moving up without cover in the back straight on the final occasion. She moved alongside of PAYING YOUR WAY on the home turn but peaked in the latter stages. It was still a handy effort from the trotter as the last half was run in quick time. EDGE AND OUT (McCardle – Marong Madam) settled down last and picked up TIZA NIGHTMARE (3 back markers) over the latter stages.

Trial 5: - DAYLIGHT AT DAWN settled three back on the inside and came away from the markers on the home turn. He produced a strong finish to get up and defeat SHAQ, which trailed the leader and hit the front with 150m remaining. AMERICAN TIGER tried to lead throughout but was collared in the early stages of the home straight and WHATA GRANT was last of the competitive chances all of the way. BEACH BABE NIKKY failed to score up and took no part.

Trial 6: - SHOWGUN THOMAS dropped back to be last of the five runners early, moved away from the inside and zipped around the field to lead at the 1400m then set up a reasonable tempo before holding on to score. SHEER MODERN began quickly and could have been able to lead but was restrained when two metres in front and eased back for fourth. She ended up being last when SHOWGUN THOMAS made a move before she gained a run in the middle approaching the home turn and finished off fast. PLAYING THE ACE ended up being four back on the inside before gaining the one out and one back trail in the back straight on the final occasion. He went wide approaching the home turn and battled into third position. WENTHESTARZZZALINE came from three back on the markers to race without cover in the final lap. She loomed up to second before the home turn but tired late. IMAGE OF COURAGE held the lead early before taking cover behind SHOTGUN THOMAS. He tired late and ended up finishing last of the five runners.

LADY LIL settled three back on the markers before moving into the one out and one back trail in the back straight and wasn’t beaten by far in third position. WILLDOMXAV (Tennotrump – Rappa Jolie) settled last of the four, moved up without cover from the 700m mark and galloped when moving up to join the leader approaching the home turn. He ended up being last of the four runners.

Trial 1: - SHESALWAYSDREAMING progressed forward to find the lead shortly after the start and always appeared to be in control. She kicked well clear approaching the home turn and scored by a large margin. WHAT A PLEASURE settled down four back on the markers and gained a one out and one back trail from the 600m mark when RUSSIAN AGENT, which was three back on the pegs, made a move into the death seat. She peeled to the outside on the home turn and finished off well for second. DOUBLE BRANDED led out then took a trail and held down third just in front of RUSSIAN AGENT. MAJOR LYND did a lot wrong after missing in the score up, losing the compass on the first bend and hanging out badly. He ended up finishing last of the five runners.

Trial 2: - JO ROCKS (Pet Rock – Our Ruby Banner 1.54.0, $101,040) was able to progress forward and find the lead shortly after the start. She enjoyed a good run in the lead and wasn’t knocked around in the run to the finish. ORCHID STRIDE (American Ideal – Modern Day 1.58.3, $56,314) trailed the leader and came to the outside in the straight. She tried hard and was able to work up within a head of the leader. MY GOLDEN EAGLE (Mach Three – Three Eagles) is a beautifully bred colt being related to such notable performers as Flylikeaneagle and Mach Doro. He settled down last, came to the outside turning for home and really worked home nicely for an eye-catching third. ELECTRIC EYE (Bettors Delight – Nikalongboulevard 1.57.1, $52,835) settled three back on the inside and used the sprint lane to finish fourth and ISLAND FIRE DANCE (four back markers) (A Rocknroll Dance – Island Under Fire 1.59.3, $19,473) finished last of the five runners.

Trial 3: - SHOSHONE BRAVE trailed the leader REALY UNDER FIRE in the early stages before switching around to find the lead with just over a mile to run. He enjoyed a good run thereafter and was able to win comfortably. REALY UNDER FIRE is a brilliant beginner from the mobile and dashed to the lead shortly after the start. He took cover before coming to the outside leaving the back straight on the final occasion. He tried hard but couldn’t gun down the winner in the straight. ENCHANTED STRIDE was an extremely nice trial effort in third position. She settled down third but didn’t chase the leaders early as the field of four broke up into two divisions. She ended up in last position when HOLLYS MISS MOLLY circled around to race into third at the 1200m mark. She then ran up behind the eventual winner SHOSHONE BRAVE, didn’t use the sprint lane, and went to the line under a hard hold. She is worth following on that performance. HOLLYS MISS MOLLY came out wider on the track over the final stages and wasn’t far away despite failing to beat a runner to the line.

BLACKBOOKER: - Enchanted Stride
Trial 4: - KYVALLEY CLICHY began nicely and moved around the early leader KEEPING IT CLASSY to find the lead with a mile remaining. She travelled beautifully in the run and burst away in the final stages to win by a big margin. HAMMERS MUSCLE (Muscle Hill – Zoia Boko) ended up being three back on the markers and switched back to the sprint lane in the home straight. He worked through nicely to finish in second position ahead of TIP TOP GRANDPA, which was four back on the markers for the majority of the trip. KEEPING IT CLASSY tired in the latter stages to finish fourth and the juvenile trotter ALDEBARAN YAHTZEE (Sebastian K – Charming Yankee) settled down a clear last, remained detached from the pack and galloped with 500m remaining.

Trial 5: - LOLA MONTEZ (American Ideal – Shes Norma Jeane 1.58.8, $34,267) settled three back on the markers and enjoyed a nice trail throughout. The leaders went quickly mid-race and when LOLA MONTEZ made her move with 600m remaining, it was obvious that she was going to score. She did win with something in reserve. ANDREW SWAGGER (Artistic Fella – My Sign 1.58.5, $25,625) settled down four back on the markers before moving up without cover at the 1200m mark and pressured the leader. He kicked on very well at the finish after the work he endured mid-race. MONTY MAJOR (Art Major – Court Safely) showed brilliant gate speed to lead clearly, then copped pressure mid-race before tiring into a distant third at the finish. OUR THUNDER BUDDY settled down last of the five, tried to progress forward in the back straight but was trotting very roughly and eventually rolled into a gallop on the home turn. He finished fourth ahead of QUIETACHIEVER (Bettors Delight – Artistic Dancer), which trailed the leader throughout.

Trial 6: - CLASSY SPIRIT was four back on the markers for the majority of the journey and came to the outside looming up to the home turn. He drew to the lead in the straight then just held off the late challenge of KING SOLOMON. KING SOLOMON settled three back on the inside and moved onto the back of CLASSY SPIRIT on the home turn. He flashed home late for an eye-catching second. SAY YOUR PRES stepped away nicely to lead early before taking cover. He battled on fairly well for third in front of GENTLEMAN SIR, which did a lot wrong. He missed the start by over 20m, tacked onto the group at the mile marker, pulled hard, circled around the field to lead then peaked late.

Trial 1: - STYLISH JOE (Roll With Joe – Stylish Jasper 1.54.2, $118,491) led comfortably and had a good margin over his rivals for the majority of the trial. He was getting a little leg weary late but was able to hold on and win. WHISKEY AND RYE (Bettors Delight – Rye Hanover) is a beautifully bred colt, stemming from a famous American family with the dam Rye Hanover being a sister or half sister to the Sires Rustler Hanover, Red River Hanover, Rocknroll Hanover and Righteous Hanover. He settled four back on the markers and gave STYLISH JOE a big start but finished off determinedly to be beaten narrowly on the line. KITCH MACRAY (Art Major – Signorina Macray 2.2.2, $8592) finished in a distant third after trailing the leader throughout. DESIRE TO LIVE (Pet Rock – Our Burning Desire 1.55.9, $81,250) settled down in last position and ended up finishing fourth in front of CLASSY COUNTESS (Village Jolt – Ima Ritzi Lombo 2.0.2, $20,905), which started pacing roughly from three back on the markers and lost ground from the 600m mark.

BLACKBOOKER: - Whiskey And Rye
Trial 2: - OFORTUNA (Majestic Son – Fortunate Phoenix) was able to work past KAUDO at the start without using too much energy and found the front. She set up a slow tempo in the early stages and was just able to hang on at the finish. KAUDO switched back to the sprint lane and drove through. He only needed another stride for victory but as the post was reached, he missed out by a narrow margin. MAJESTICAL BELLE (Majestic Son – Avid 2.5.4, $25,423) settled five back on the markers before moving into the breeze at the bell. She kicked on well for third in front of SCOOTING ALONG, which made up a lot of ground after making a mistake in the score up. CALEDONIAN SPIRIT (Bacardi Lindy – Eagles Image 2.3.8, $43,288) settled three back on the inside and finished fifth ahead of READYTOBEASTAR (Ready Cash – Mybrotherwasastar) (4 back markers) and RYMES (Majestic Son – Genayas Girl) was always detached from the group after breaking stride during the score up.

Trial 3: - HES IDEAL (American Ideal – Punchline 1.54.2, $84,499) was able to stride to the lead at the start and jogged around for the first circuit. He sprinted home in fast final sectionals and scored with something in reserve. FIREROCKFIREROLL (Courage Under Fire – Rocknrolla 1.57.1, $287,351) ran home well from three back on the markers and was a determined effort to finish in second position.
