Sometimes one scratching can mean very little but here it may mean a lot. BLASTER RANGER (1) coming in alters the map and ultimately adds tempo which will help several runners but I can’t look past DOT THE EYE (6) for a throw at the stumps at $5 and $9.

Confidence:
The simplest way out of this race is laying the fave MISSUCCI (1) given I think she’ll be crossed at the start and maybe even double crossed. CHISSY (3) is my top tip here and $6.50 is very appealing indeed but I also think we can play I AM PEGASUS (10) Each Way at $11.

Based on Andy Gath’s recent comments there is only one chance here in CATCH A WAVE (4) but he’s into even money now so we’re playing a cheeky little Trick hoping to get some value for third

Confidence:
A lot of folks are going to muck around when it comes to exotics but we’re going a different way. Rather than trying to tighten things up knowing LADIES IN RED (7) looks a certain winner and TOUGH TILLY (8) a near-certain silver medallist we’re playing wide at the back end of F4’s and hoping to knock many of those waifish rivals about.

Part of me wants to play TANGO TARA (8) here as he’s definitely overs the odds at $3.80 but I dare say it’s just easier to play he and fave MACH DAN (9) to finish top-two or top-three at worst in exotics tonight.
