Buyers will be spoilt for choice at Sunday’s Nutrien Equine Melbourne Yearling Sale at the renowned Inglis Complex, Oaklands Junction with a quality lineup of prospective racetrack stars catalogued.

The star-studded catalogue of 170 pacing and trotting yearlings includes progeny of 48 individual stallions, with huge interest to surround youngsters by six first season sires.

The most in-form sires from across the country are represented by progeny including Bettor’s Delight, Art Major, Captaintreacherous, Always B Miki, Sweet Lou, Somebeachsomewhere, American Ideal, Downbytheseaside, Rock N Roll Heaven, Bettor’s Wish, Tall Dark Stranger, Poster Boy, Stay Hungry, McWicked, Majestic Son, Bold Eagle, Tactical Landing and Muscle Mass and the first crop sires Century Farroh, Dancinginthedark M, Bird Parker, Face Time Bourbon, On A Streak and Zenith Stride.

Further emphasizing the quality on offer, no fewer than 50 lots in the sale are from Group winning dams or Group producing dams.

Yearlings from 14 Group 1 winning mares are among the highlights. The list includes Life Inthefastlane, Momentslikethese, Kualoa, Red Hot Roxy, Saved A Corka and the trotters Endsino, Shezoneoftheboyz, Kinvara Sue, Moonshine Linda, My Valerie, Betty Hall, Perfect Polly, Amour De Frere and Liberty Stride.

There’s siblings to a swag of Group 1 winners including the NZ Trot Slot Race winner Arcee Phoenix, Expensive Ego, Act Now, Tough Tilly, Perfect Class, Petacular, Idyllic, Sweet Bella, Miki To Success, Joanna, Captain Bellasario, Centenario, Lightning Dan, Temporale, Parisian Artiste and Valerie Lane. 

The sales weekend kicks off with the running of the fourth Sales Race series, sponsored by Haras Des Trotteurs, Woodlands Stud and Alabar Bloodstock, with $650,000 on offer for two and three-year-old sale graduates at Melton on Friday night.

The weekend then rolls on to Saturday with the Woodlands and BetaVet sponsored yearling parade at 12 noon.

The sale is set to get underway at 11am on Sunday.

 “It marks the conclusion of sales for the Nutrien team with a total of 418 yearlings offered for sale across eastern Australia so far at a clearance rate of 70 percent and averaging $30,023,” Nutrien Equine standardbred manager Mark Barton said.
