OVERVIEW: As is the case with many of tonight’s Inter Dominion qualifiers this final heat of the series will see a short, explosive war between HICKSTEAD (1), MATTGREGOR (2) and FRANCO NELSON (3) for the early lead before the only pacer to have won on both nights of ID18 CRUZ BROMAC (4) ultimately progresses to head off the lot. Exactly how long that whole process takes and how fast they pace through the opening 500m may have some bearing on the result but in the overwhelming majority of potential scenarios CRUZ BROMAC (4) will lead, dictate and salute. In fact his only realistic threat is the underrated IM PATS DELIGHT (8) who is going through this series like a boss and who could provide some resistance should he get off the inside early and CRUZ BROMAC (4) is forced to work harder than expected to find the premier role. In most scenarios IM PATS DELIGHT (8) finishes second at worst but assessing the remaining runners is no easy task. Based on his improvement from nights one to two of this series and the fact he backs up like a Mack Truck IM THE BOSS (9) is worthy of third billing though FRANCO NELSON (3) can also improve third up from a little let up and MATTGREGOR (2) is also a place player if he crosses over as looks likely at the start.
