A Concession Driver is a licensed driver who has held a licence for a period of less than five years from the date a Grade B licence was first granted and/or are under the age of 24.
A horse driven by a Concession Driver claiming a concession shall have its National Rating reduced as determined by the concurrent total of the Driver’s race wins being:
Five (5) Rating points concession for 0 – 100 lifetime wins
Three (3) Rating points concession for 101 – 250 lifetime wins.
Five (5) Rating points concession in a Metro race for 0 – 50 lifetime Metro wins
A concession may NOT be claimed in the following type of race: (i) a maiden race; (ii) a discretionary handicap; (iii) a 2YO age race; (iv) a 3YO age race; (v) a claiming race; (vi) a conditioned race; (vii) a National Rating race with a minimum less than 52 (may apply in barrier draw ONLY)
