Mildura Tuesday 6 May

OVERVIEW: LOMBOK (4) is racing in career best form and is a good chance of completing four wins in succession. She led and dashed well clear at the end when a big winner at Mount Gambier a week ago. ULTIMATE EGO (2) led out then took cover when she got up to win at Mildura on April 16. She is perfectly drawn to suit her racing pattern and should be prominent throughout again. DALLAS MIKI (7) is clearly the class runner of the field but he performs best when he is able to lead and he is awkwardly drawn behind a slow beginner. He is going to need luck from the draw but he will be suited if there is a genuine tempo throughout. IM STUCK MAN (8) continues to race consistently and has claims along with AMERICAN BOXER (5) and RED HOT MIKI (10).

SUGGESTED BET: LOMBOK (4) to win

OVERVIEW: GOOD BOOTS BINDI (4) possesses a powerful finishing burst and is building up a good record on the Mildura circuit. She gained a nice trail and finished off too well to defeat a field of similar quality at Mildura last outing. BEAUTY ABOVE (1) attempted to lead throughout when second behind GOOD BOOTS BINDI (4) then performed strongly after enduring a tough trip at Globe Derby. She is perfectly drawn and looms as one of the leading chances. LE SPARTACUS (3) is racing well but without luck and deserves to break through for a win. He moved up without cover and battled on strongly at his latest third. CALF PEN (8) has won several races at Mildura recently and he has the ability to finish strongly so he is worth thought from the trailing draw.

OVERVIEW: MARIAHS SHADOW (8) has won four races at Mildura already this season and overcame a tough run to defeat Cavalry at her latest performance. This race is only marginally tougher so she should prove hard to beat again. FAIR CHANCE (3) is yet to win in nine starts for the season but she missed out by a narrow margin at Maryborough two starts ago and is likely to find this assignment to be easier so she is worth thought at her Mildura debut. HESASTAR (10) did well after racing without cover throughout when second at Mildura on April 22 and is not without a chance. ORAMA (9) performs best when she is able to lead so being drawn on the second line is a disadvantage but she is racing too well to dismiss.

SUGGESTED BET: MARIAHS SHADOW (8) to win

OVERVIEW: GO AWAY AGAIN (8) performs best when he is able to lead so he is awkwardly drawn but he will find this race to be much easier than his latest efforts in the Mildura Cup series, where he finished fifth in a heat and ninth in the Final. IM BLINGIN IT (9) trailed the leader and was held up for a run at a vital stage when an unlucky second behind United two starts ago. He appears to be well placed against this class and warrants respect. OZZIE DAYBREAK (3) is a versatile pacer, which has been racing in good form for some time. He locked wheels with 100m remaining but recovered to finish fourth in the Robinvale Cup on April 22. VICTORY GEORGE (2) appeared to have every chance when third at Mount Gambier a week ago but he finished off well for second in fast time at Charlton prior so he is not without a chance.

SUGGESTED BET: GO AWAY AGAIN (8) to win

OVERVIEW: KARDESLER (2) makes his debut for leading trainer Naomi Kerrr and will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. He hasn’t won in 12 starts for the season but his second behind Shezabluechip in a mile rate of 1.58.6 on March 27 is a strong form pointer for this event. STEAL SOME TIME (1) is a good chance of ending up being behind the leader and he was runner up from a nice trailing position on April 22 so he is not without a chance. CHEERS POVERTY (7) was checked at the 700m mark and did a good job to recover and finish fifth at Mildura on April 22. He is usually competitive against this class and is not without a chance. SHIREEN (10) hasn’t had much luck at Mildura recently and is capable of improving on her numerical form.

OVERVIEW: SUNSHINE WARRIOR (6) has had a few chances recently but he strikes a suitable assignment now and gets his chance to return to some form. ROBERT CROCKA (5) performs best over the sprint distance and is likely to utilize his brilliant gate speed to find the lead shortly after the start. He does have a tendency to race fiercely so how he settles in the run will be a key to the result of the race. GLENLEA HANOVER (7) finished off well for fourth behind Celestial Daybreak on April 22 and is not without a chance. APOLOGY ACCEPTED (9) and BEACH TIME (10) are both capable of showing up prominently if they put their best foot forward.

OVERVIEW: SUPER SUSPECT (5) is resuming since a big win at Swan Hill, where she dashed home in a brilliant final half of 56.5 seconds to defeat I’m All Business with the pair defeating the remainder of the field by twenty metres. She hasn’t been to the trials but a repeat of her latest performance will see her go close to winning. CAVALRY (7) was heavily supported and sustained a long run from the back when a game second behind Mariah’s Shadow on April 22. He should run a good race again under these conditions. ANOTHER PUDDIN (2) has only recently joined trainer Scott Garraway and should be suited in the Sunraysia. She possesses early speed and should give a forward showing. TO THE NINES (3) and TAP TO PAY (4) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish.
