The Locomotive captured his third Group 1 at start number nine with yet another professional performance on the big stage.

Trained by Wayne Potter, the regally bred youngster added the Aldebaran Park Breeders Crown final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings to his mantlepiece with a dominant display in the $100,000 event on Saturday night.

With Nathan Jack at his brilliant best in the sulky, The Locomotive found the front quickly from barrier eight and charged clear in the home straight to beat Larr Dees Son (David Aiken/Anthony Butt) and Ess Kay Hollywood (Cameron Maggs/David Jack) by close to 15m.

From there, his horse The Locomotive was able to control the race from the top and sprint home in 29.7sec and 29.0sec closing quarters to win comfortably.

THE WINNING WORDS:

Nathan Jack: "He's just a little natural, look at the breeding of his gait and everything - he's got the world at his feet this one. He just does everything right and he makes my job easy, that's for sure."
