Driver Corey O’Donoghue is having a leg injury treated and fellow driver Alannah Logie is recovering well after both were involved in a fall at Melton last night.

Both O’Donoghue and Logie required medical attention after Logie’s horse, As She Says, broke gait and fell leading into the final turn of the night’s second race, checking O’Donoghue’s horse, who was behind her.

Scans cleared Logie of serious injury and she was discharged from hospital overnight and is recovering. O’Donoghue is having surgery on a broken right femur and his father, trainer Steven, shared he was in "good spirits".

Logie’s drive, As She Says, is being assessed by vets today. O’Donoghue’s horse, Micton Mouse, trained by David Barbetti, has come through the incident well, with superficial abrasions to his knees and chest. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The three other horses and drivers involved in the fall – Rockaway Beach (Nick Beale), John Vincent (Ben Xiriha) and Tooby Gold (Stephen Blacker) – were cleared of injury.
