Maori Time will reignite her hunt for European success when she steps out at Jägersro racetrack in Malmo, Sweden, on Wednesday at 3.10am AEST.

The fifth race on the program will be Maori Time's fourth European attempt for Victorian owner Fred Crews and third in the hands of Swedish trainer Stig H. Johansson, with the eight-year-old mare hoping to leave behind the issues that have thus far plagued her campaign.

Maori Time has repeatedly struck her cart when racing that has led to her galloping, results that have seen her out of the draw for Wednesday morning’s mile, when she will start from gate seven.

But Mr Crews said Maori Time had jogged and completed fast work “in a brand new sulky, hopefully this will solve all her problems.”

“By all reports Maori Time continues to do well in training at home,” Mr Crews said.

The mares race over a mile, worth 200,000SEK or $AU30,600, will again have Erik Adielsson in the sulky of Maori Time, whose trip is being supported by Aldebaran Park.

It was a big weekend for the Nagambie trotting agistment and stud farm, with Aldebaranwalkabout winning a two-year-old trotting qualifier at the Meadowlands over the weekend.

The Muscle Hill colt by Aldebaran Turnpike – a Cantab Hall mare who won five of her 15 starts – was bred in Victoria and shipped to Team JC in New Jersey in 2017.

Aldebaranwalkabout produced a 28.2 last quarter to hold out fast-finishing White Tiger and win in 1:56.2 for driver Andy Miller and trainer Jonas Czernyson.

The qualifier win came the same weekend that Lazarus reaffirmed his talent in a US qualifier. Click here to read Michael Guerin's report on Lazarus.
