The 2024 Young Guns Series final top 10 under-25 drivers have been revealed based on wins this season to midnight November 30.
The 10 drivers will compete in eight ratings-exempt races throughout the course of the night on December 31, with a sliding points scale based on finishing positions used to declare an overall winner.
Connor Clarke produced a last-gasp win on Saturday night aboard Ghost Of Time to secure the final position.
“Winning on Saturday night was a big relief to just get into the Young Guns after an up-and-down year with my driving,” Clarke said.
“Driving in the Young Guns is very exciting, especially knowing you’re in the top 10 under-25-year-old drivers in the state,” Clarke added.
“I think it’s an amazing initiative for us young drivers to get to show our talent over a card of racing,” the 21-year-old reinsman said.
“New Year’s Eve should attract a big crowd and it should be a very exciting night for all,” he added
Ryan Sanderson won the inaugural series and will be back to defend his crown.
Australia’s leading driver, James Herbertson, will be looking to add a Young Guns title to his resume, with Luke Dunne, Jordan Leedham, Lochie Cook, Ryan Backhouse, Ewa Justice, Liam Older, and Sean O'Sullivan also qualifying for the showdown.
In addition to the Young Guns Series, a repechage has been added for the next 10 drivers on the 2024 standings to ensure the entire New Year’s Eve card will support our stars of tomorrow.
While patrons on track will enjoy a great night, those at home will be able to watch the action on Sky Racing, Sky Racing Active and TrotsVision.
