Maxy Can Dance won his qualifying trial impressively at Maryborough and caught the eye of Craig Rail. 

Captain Bellasario also impressed with a brilliant finishing burst to win his trial clearly at Melton Entertainment Park.

Former Tasmanian Chenin Beach also trialed well at Bendigo for Alex Ashwood.

SHEPPARTON 06/02/25

Trial 1: - CATALPA RESCUE has been placed in both of his starts this preparation and is ready to break through for a win. He led throughout and recorded handy time in the opening trial. He is competing at Albury this evening. SPIRIT OF ARION NZ sat in the trail throughout but couldn’t go with CATALPA RESCUE over the latter stages.

Trial 2: - MONGIANA began quickly to find the lead and ran along at a genuine tempo. He kicked clear on the home turn and was able to win comfortably. He is backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. ALOT LIKE LOUIE began quickly to trail the leader, came to the outside on the home turn and tried hard over the latter stages. He is also backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. ITS CONFIDENTIAL settled three back on the markers, waited for the sprint lane and was making ground over the latter stages, finishing in third. He is competing at Albury on Friday night. MY ULTIMATE SKEETA settled down last, sprinted quickly down the back straight and got to second before peaking late and finishing in fourth spot. She is also racing at Albury this evening.

Trial 3: - YOU GOTTA BELIEVE trailed the leader, pushed forward to find the lead at the 1300m and was able to hold off his rivals in the straight. He is by Captain Crunch out of the classy mare Now Eye See (1.55.8, $47,496) and is closely related to the top filly Eye Believe (1.56.0, $235,999). THEYASKABOUTLENNY is a son of Lennytheshark and did well to finish in second. He was out of position at the start and was a clear last early, moved through to be third on the markers mid-race then moved up without cover from the quarter pole. RIDE THE HIGHS is a filly by Ride High and finished off well from four back on the markers, running into a close up third.

Trial 4: - THE WISE GUY raced roughly at the start and ended up being three back on the markers. He moved into the one out and one back trail to follow behind SEBASTIANS BOY before being left without cover at the 700m mark. He worked home well and was too good for his rivals. He backed up at Kilmore on Thursday night and won on debut. SEBASTIANS BOY settled four back on the inside, made a move at the bell and sprinted quickly to find the lead with 700m remaining. He peaked at the end and was run down late but ran a good race against the pacers. He is resuming from a spell at Melton tomorrow night. FAR LEFT FLETCH began well to trail the leader, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 700m mark and battled on fairly for third position.

Trial 5: - SCHEMING settled three back on the markers, moved into the death seat at the quarter pole and sustained a strong run to win in fast time. She is competing at Albury this evening. RACING WRITER trailed the leader and used the sprint lane, finishing in second with TUPELO hitting the line strongly from four back on the markers to run into third position. RACING WRITER is competing at Albury this evening and TUPELO is backing up both at Albury and also Echuca on Sunday. The early leader SASSINESS peaked in the straight and finished in fourth spot. She is also competing at Albury on Friday night.

Trial 2: - SER PATRICK settled three back on the markers, moved into death seat at the 500m mark and battled on too well in the run to the finish. He is resuming from a spell at Melton tomorrow night. LITTLE YANKEE trailed the leader and used the sprint lane. He finished off well and was beaten by a narrow margin. He is also resuming at Melton tomorrow night. SINGARA TED began quickly to find the lead and was run down over the latter stages.

Trial 3: - MET WITH A SHRUG raced without cover in the early stages, pushed forward to find the lead and was able to win comfortably. LA VOLONTE trailed the leader early, broke stride at the 1500m, chased hard and did well to finish in second position. She backed up at Maryborough on Wednesday afternoon and was able to get the prize first up. ALLAWART BOB began quickly to trail the leader and finished into a distant third.

Trial 4: - MAJOR ASSASSIN has joined trainer Ashley Ainsworth since his latest unplaced effort at Mildura in August. He impressed with his trial victory, where he led and ran along at a genuine tempo before drawing well clear at the finish. PICK UP ELVIS was second early but got shuffled back on the markers to be in fourth position before making ground late for second. ANGEL OF ANGER came from five back on the markers to run into third position and will be backing up at Echuca on Sunday night.

Trial 5: - MAXO MIGHTY trailed the leader throughout and came to the outside with 300m remaining. He drew away at the finish to win easily. He backed up to win the first juvenile race of the season at Maryborough on Wednesday, where he blitzed his rivals in fast time. DE BEAU ROCK attempted to lead throughout in the trial and finished in second. JUST JIMMY came from last of the four runners to pick up third with ROCKNROLL KNIGHT (3 back markers) being the last one across the line.

Trial 6: - MAXY CAN DANCE is a close relation to Nikkibadwagon (1.53.2) and Maxy Wants To Play (1.55.5) and won his qualifying trial impressively. He settled four back on the inside, moved out three horses wide at the 500m and finished powerfully to win by a big margin. SHAKEYOURMONEYMAKR finished in second position after working to the lead shortly after the start and HEZ NOTTHE MESSIAH was third across the line after being three back on the markers throughout.

Trial 1: - OHSO HANDSOME is a juvenile pacer for trainer Julian Attard. He is by Soho Tribeca out of Bring Her Back making him a close relation to four winners including Sophies Ideal (1.53.5) and Nai Harn Bay (1.54.6). He won the opening trial by a comfortable margin over JAMALA KHAN, which finished unplaced at his Kilmore debut, and YNOBE MAJAK.

Trial 3: - HITTHEROADJACK NZ has been racing consistently and continued his good form with a comfortable trial victory. GOODTIME MACH has been freshened since his latest victory back in December and finished in second position with SEA SILK being in third spot.

Trial 1: - WHERES WOOD WOOD began quickly and was able to slide to the lead shortly after the start. He never appeared to be in any danger of defeat and won easily. He is competing at Echuca on Sunday night. PARK RUN trailed the leader throughout and finished a distant second. He is also competing at Echuca on Sunday night. BETTERBWATCHING was the third horse across the line after racing without cover in the early stages and restraining to be four back on the markers shortly afterwards.

Trial 3: - CHEROKEE JAC trailed the leader, came to the outside at the 500m mark and finished off best to win easily. He is backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. MADDALEEZ settled last of the five runners, moved up without cover at the 700m mark and battled on reasonably well for third. She is also competing at Echuca on Sunday night.

Trial 2: - MY UNCLE STAN hasn’t raced since being unplaced in the Super Series Final back in September but he was impressive in his trial victory. He settled four back on the markers, angled out four horses wide on the home turn and finished off fast to win clearly. HES OLLY NZ began quickly to race without cover, angled onto the markers to be three back and moved into the one out and one back trail at the 1200m. He finished second ahead of WOTDIDUSAAAY, which settled in the second half of the field and was left stranded without cover for the final 1700m. GIVE DAVE A WAVE settled last on the markers, moved into the running lane (1-2) and came out wide from the quarter pole. He battled on reasonably well for fourth and will be backing up at Melton tomorrow night.

Trial 4: - CAPTAIN BELLASARIO settled last of the three runners, came to the outside at the quarter pole and produced a brilliant finishing burst to win clearly. It was his best trial performance for the year and he appears to be ready to bounce back into his peak form at Melton tomorrow night. FIGHTER COMMAND began quickly to find the lead, raced very greenly on the first turn but maintained the lead and ran along at a genuine tempo. He was run down in the latter stages and finished in second. METEOR MOTH trailed the leader throughout and finished in a distant third.

Trial 5: - RINGER WELLS raced without cover in the early stages, restrained to be three back on the markers, moved up without cover again at the 800m and dashed clear at the 500m mark. He blitzed his rivals to win by nearly thirty metres so it was a very good display. BAR TAB began quickly to find the lead and was headed at the 500m mark. He did well to hold down second position. PARLEZVOUS PATTY trailed the leader throughout and finished in third position.

Trial 6: - GOLDEN TRIBE continued his very good trial form by recording a runaway victory in the sixth event. He led out, pulled hard then took cover at the half mile marker and commenced his winning move at the quarter pole. He finished off in a sizzling final quarter of 27.0 seconds and won by fifteen metres. TECHY CREED settled four back on the inside, made a mid-race move and worked to the front at the 800m. He was comfortably beaten by GOLDEN TRIBE but he defeated the remainder of the field by a large margin. INEXORABLE finished a distant third after settling five back on the markers.

Trial 9: - THE ART OF SUCCESS settled four back on the outside, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 600m mark and came out three horses wide on the home turn. She finished off best and was able to win nicely. IDEAL AFFAIR settled three back on the inside, moved off the pegs in the back straight and hit the lead on the home turn but was run down late. HARLEY LANE settled five back on the inside, waited for the sprint lane and made ground late for an eye-catching third.

Trial 1: - LORD MYRMECIA raced without cover early, pushed forward to find the lead and was able to hang on and win the trial. SWEET MARION settled four back on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trial at the 500m, hung out at the quarter pole and ran home strongly late. She would have won in another stride and produced an eye-catching performance. MY FATAL CHARM settled three back on the inside and battled on fairly well for third.

Trial 2: - CHENIN BEACH is a former Tasmanian pacer, which has joined trainer Alex Ashwood. He was very impressive in taking out the trial as he pushed forward to find the lead and recorded fast time. HES LETHAL finished in second after leading out then taking cover. WILD BULL NZ was four back on the inside and moved to the outside at the 600m mark. He tried hard for third with MITZI SAID being in fourth after settling last of the five runners. MITZI SAID is resuming from a spell at Melton tomorrow night.

Trial 4: - BILLY ZIPPIN began quickly to find the lead, copped some pressure and eventually took cover in the back straight on the final occasion. He broke stride shortly after the start and galloped wildly for the next 300m but didn’t lose much ground. He moved up without cover again, pressured the leader a long way from home and dashed to the front in the back straight before peaking late. He is backing up at Melton tomorrow night. BLONDIES BLIS settled three back on the inside and finished a distant third.

She is also backing up at Maryborough this afternoon. AVANT GUARD settled three back on the inside and was the third horse across the line. He is competing at Melton on Saturday night. WISH UPONA DREAM and ZAREM were fourth and fifth respectively throughout the entire trial. WISH UPONA DREAM is competing at Melton tomorrow night.

KEAYANG BLUE JEANS was safely beaten but the final quarter was run in fast time. Both horses will be competing at Terang this evening.
