Herbertson to represent Victoria on the big stage

James Herbertson will represent Victoria at the 2023 Australasian Young Drivers Championships in Queensland next week.

Herbertson follows in the footsteps of 26-year-old Tayla French, who reigned supreme in the series last year.

“The series is sort of chosen by the leading juniors in the state,” Herbertson said.

“It’s been the case for the other states and unfortunately this year Tayla French was a year too old. I was able to step into her boots.”

The opportunity to represent his state isn’t lost on the 23-year-old Herbertson.

“It’s my first time representing Victoria in the Junior Drivers Championship and it’s an opportunity I’ve wanted to hopefully be a part of since I first started driving,” he said.

“It’s sort of been a dream all along, finally this year I’ve got the chance.”

The 39th running of the series kicks off on Tuesday, December 12 and runs until Saturday, December 16, which is Inter Dominion finals night at Albion Park.
