WATCH: John Yeomans hopeful he has young Classic in his camp

Life-long breeder/trainer John Yeomans will be an excited onlooker of tomorrow night’s Nutrien Equine Classic finals at Bendigo, optimistic he will soon make his mark in the sales series.

Yeomans is preparing to bring his team, a blend of seasoned racehorses and yearlings, for the three-day sales and breeding event scheduled at Melton on April 13.

“We are looking at what horses we are going to put into the Nutrien sales this year, we’ve got some well-bred horses here,” Yeomans said, which includes a Helen Head-bred “beautiful filly” from the Nutrien sale.

He spoke proudly about the filly by Rock N Roll Heaven out of 10-time winner Our Star Dust, who has just been broken in by horseman Paul Weidenbach.

“Hopefully we will have that filly in that race in April,” Yeomans said.
