Ladies In Red and Tough Tilly will continue their growing rivalry when they clash in leg two of the Elizabeth Clarke Mares Triple Crown at Melton on Friday night.
Both trained by Emma Stewart, Ladies In Red (barrier 11) and Tough Tilly (10) have the back row to contend with in the Group 3 Angelique Club Pace over 2240m.
Tough Tilly has won the last two battles between the superstar mares – including last start in The Make Mine Cullen on October 8 – to now trail 3-7 on the head-to-head ledger.
Ladies In Red won the first five encounters between the two horses through 2020, but Tough Tilly fought back with triumphs in the Vicbred Super Series 2YO Fillies Final, the APG Gold Bullion Series 4YO Mares Final and The Make Mine Cullen.
Stablemate Treachery has gone to a new level in recent times and has drawn barrier nine, while fellow Stewart-trained starter Runaway Celebrity has seven.
The Angelique Club Pace is joined by two editions of the Group 2 Logical Staffing Solutions Tatlow Stakes – for both the two-year-old colts and geldings and also the two-year-old fillies – and Group 3 Aldebaran Park True Roman Trotters Free For All as features on Friday night’s card.
Rob Auber and Steve Cleave will head-up the wall-to-wall TrotsVision coverage from Tabcorp Park, with the first race to get underway at 6pm.
