Ego lands gate 2 for Pryde’s EasiFeed Victoria Cup

Expensive Ego (pictured) has drawn a perfect gate for the Pryde’s EasiFeed Victoria Cup, barrier two, outside of Better Eclipse, whose connections will also be glowing after drawing gate one.

Defending champion Max Delight had no luck, securing gate 13.

In the Pryde’s EasiFeed Victoria Oaks, Relentless Me secured gate one, a filly blessed with gate speed and who is going into the Final full of confidence after a Heat win.

If the polemarker does lead, Amore Vita is in the prime spot to land a gun trail for champion driver Chris Alford.

Speaking on tonight’s TrotsVision coverage, Alford said: “There’s nothing wrong with barrier eight … there will be a few getting tired at the finish. Relentless Me is quick enough to hold the front line I think. I couldn’t see the pole wanting to hand up to Petillante.”

Boom trotter Ollivici has drawn gate six in the Aldebaran Park Bill Collins Trotters Sprint, which has blown right open with exciting Queen Elida drawing gate 10 and Aldebaran Zeus barrier 11.

“It’s not the end of the world, looks to be a fair bit of gate speed off the front, which will help,” Alford said of his drive Queen Elida.

And in the Downbytheseaside Victoria Derby Final, Captain Ravishing will still likely start favourite but will have to overcome barrier 10 to win.

Star Queenslander Leap To Fame, who finished a bold second to Captain Ravishing in the heat, drew better on the front line in barrier five setting up a clash for the ages.
