Ladies In Red gets wide barrier for APG Gold Bullion Final

Ladies In Red has drawn barrier 10 for Saturday night’s Group 1 APG Gold Bullion 4YO Mares Final at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

The superstar pacer returned for her first start as a four-year-old at Ballarat last week, cruising through the heat with victory over stablemates Joanna and Tough Tilly.

The result took her career record to 18 wins from 21 career runs and prizemoney up over $575,000.

Nathan Jack drove the Emma Stewart-trained mare for the first time in a race at Bray Raceway and is back at the controls again this weekend for the $210,000 contest.

He will start from the second outside barrier (emergency Irakleia is in gate eight), with Joanna (four) and Tough Tilly (seven) on her inside.

Fellow Victorians Soho Almasi (Michael Stanley) and Momentslikethese (Jess Tubbs) have barriers one and 11 respectively.

Stewart also has two chances in the Group 1 APG Gold Bullion 4YO Entires and Geldings Final, with Act Now coming up with the outside barrier of 12 and Beyond Delight nine.

Beyond Delight ran down Act Now in the heat at Ballarat last week with an impressive display of speed in the home straight.

Stanley has Drain The Swamp (barrier five) as the only other Victorian hope in the race.

The La Coocaracha, for the open trotting mares, and NSW Trotters Oaks are the other two Group 1 events on the Menangle card.
