Vale Stephen Coombes

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is mourning the sad passing of long-time and highly respected steward Stephen Coombes yesterday.

A valued member of the HRV Integrity team, Stephen joined HRV in 2011 and recently received his 10 years’ service acknowledgement.

He joined HRV following a career spanning over 24 years as a steward at Racing Victoria.

“This is a very sad time for Steve’s family, the Integrity team and the broader HRV staff and industry,” HRV General Manager Integrity Brent Fisher said.

“Steve was very popular and held in high esteem by all who worked with him, and his contribution will be dearly missed.  He was the epitome of professionalism and fairness.

“On behalf of HRV, deepest condolences are extended to Stephen’s wife, Sandra, and children Imogen and Darcy.”
