Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has rescheduled this Friday’s race meeting at Mildura to Friday night.
The decision was made following a request from Western Australia, which has changed its Gloucester Park meeting to a day event due to a clash with AFL finals.
Kilmore will remain scheduled for Friday night, meaning Victoria will host two primetime Friday night meetings.
HRV General Manager – Racing Stephen Bell said:
“We received a request from Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) to move our Mildura meeting to Friday night to allow Gloucester Park a daytime timeslot due to AFL football finals in Perth. We accommodated this request and worked with Sky Racing to reschedule.
“Friday night will now be a Victorian double-header with Kilmore to go ahead as planned as well as Mildura. Friday night is an optimum timeslot from a wagering and media perspective, so this will hopefully help maintain the positive trends in Victorian harness wagering that we have been experiencing throughout recent months.”
Yesterday HRV announced that Saturday night’s race meeting had been transferred from Tabcorp Park Melton to Geelong following the State Government’s extension of the current lockdown conditions.
