Owners update: HRV, VHRC exploring options for safe return

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) and the Victorian Harness Racing Club (VHRC) have been working with industry groups to explore a safe way for owners to get back on track for race night.

Owners have not been able to attend Victorian harness racing meetings since March.

In coming weeks HRV hopes to announce further detail about plans to trial a return to the track for owners. Any return would be under strict COVID-19 protocols, attendance restrictions and in line with State Government health advice.

Recently, HRV, VHRC, Victorian Trainers and Drivers Association, Harness Breeders Victoria, Trots Clubs Victoria, Harness Racing Advisory Council and Victorian Square Trotters Association met to discuss the topic specifically.
