The Lee stable will unleash a beautifully bred two-year-old at Terang tonight, part of an eight-race program that kicks off on Trots Vision at 6.25pm.
Reinsman Jason Lee caught up with Paul Campbell, of Campbell’s Comments, to go runner-by-runner, including his steer on trainer Paddy Lee’s first starter in the Ridley/Barastoc 2YO Pace.
By Charlotte Church out of Bettors Delight, Jilliby Retro is a full-brother to Wrappers Delight ($414,224) and a half-brother to promising Watch List ($59,495), and Jason Lee said he was “a lovely colt”.
“Whatever he does tonight he will improve on,” Lee said. “I haven’t driven him a hell of a lot. Paddy was pretty happy with his first trial, then I had a drive on him the other day at Melton. He’s worked quite nicely. He should run a good race.”

Among Jilliby Retro’s four combatants in tonight’s fourth race, which kicks off at 8.02pm, will be Keayang Balboa, who is trained by Jason’s mum Marg Lee and ran seventh on debut in a heat of South Australia’s The Allwood on March 7.
“We’d like to think he would go a bit better,” Jason Lee said. “He’s been working with the other fella. He probably just wasn’t 100 per cent wound up ready to go, but that race come up and we thought we’d have a go at it. He should be definitely improving.”
