Boort’s summer holiday meeting is shaping as an absolute cracker on Monday, and the club is pulling out all stops to make it a success.
With the town long renowned as the Northern Oasis, in part because of its popular lakes, Boort will embrace that image on Monday, with stakes increases for its $12,000 Northern Oasis Maiden Pace and $12,000 Northern Oasis Trotters Handicap (NR 46-120).
“We are wanting to grow a good race meeting into a feature race meeting,” said club president John Campbell.
“There will be lots of fun and activities to be had, and we also have some great race bonuses that we hope owners and trainers embrace so we can enjoy big fields.”
The Northern Oasis trot will carry an Aldebaran Park $2500 stallion voucher, while there will be Victorian Harness Racing Club bonuses.
For race goers attractions include a Girls Day Out entertainment, with an air conditioned sports bar. Entry is just $20 and gifts a drink, canapes and entry into the spinning wheel. Men are welcome (bookings to host Brodi Leversha 0437 228 382).
Darren Carroll will lead the punters’ club, bookie Tom Hogan will be on hand, musician Leigh Turner will entertain, there will be prizes to be won (including a Gold Coast holiday) and an ice cream van and water slide will help keep the whole family content.
If you can’t get trackside Paul Campbell will deliver all the action on Trots Vision at thetrots.com.au
