GOODFORM – Ryan Phelan’s tips and game plan for Sunday night at Terang

Ryan Phelan has found a few good things for tonight’s 9-race card at Terang.

R1 – 5:52pm – Rafferty’s Tavern Pick 5 Pace – 1680m

3– Ruby Wingate

8 – Martha Lavinia

1 – Miki Steamed Home

6 – Mr Teddy

R2 – 6:25pm – AJM Automotive Centre Pace – 2180m

5 – Remi Lou

10 – Banksofthemurray

7 – Keayang Wasabi

9 – Jumpingjoy

Remi Lou drops back significantly in class here racing in the SA Derby where she got shuffled back at a vital stage and was pretty good to the line. She’s had a couple of big wins when able to find the lead this preparation, so I like her set-up, and gets a top driver in Jason Lee.

BACK: 5 Remi Lou – 3 Units (win)

R3 – 6:55pm – Brandt Terang Pace – 2180m

5 – Foregone Conclusion

11 – Montana Pride

2 – Imawingate

10 – Eastbro Kozzy

R4 – 7:25pm – Terang Co-Op Conveniently Yours Pace – 1680m

8 – Ultimate Vinnie

1 – Bolmramski

7 – Roadmaster

6 – Blake Bolac

What a high-quality race we have here, with metropolitan form right through the field! I’m a fan of all my top 4, but the race set-up over the mile is key. Bolramski is a speedy customer and despite giving away ratings here will give a big sight in the likely lead with Ultimate Vinnie to flash late on the sprint lane.

BACK: 8 Ultimate Vinnie – 1 Unit (win)

R5 – 7:55pm – Directwear – Workwear Specialists 0-2 LTW Pace – 2180m

9 – T Bone Walker

6 – Cheys Angel

2 – Startin To Gogh

10 – Michaywey

R6 – 8:30pm – Keayang Zahara You Beauty Trot – 1680m

1 – Daisy Bouchea

7 – Fling It Rainbow

6 – Kyvalley Surfrider

3 – Aldebaran Rocky

R7 – 9:07pm – Vale Dick Lee 3yo & Older Maiden Trot – 2180m

1 – Kyvalley Mucklebar

8 – Rasengan

7 – Reginalds Reign

4 – My Mother Said

R8 – 9:37pm – VHRC 3yo & Older Maiden Pace – 1680m

7 – Maxy Bomber

8 – Cincinnati

1 – Sir Nippa

4 – Second Edition

Maxy Bomber was a good thing beaten when 2nd on debut when he was held up at a crucial stage. That followed a solid trial win, and from what I’ve seen this son of Vincent looks to have some ability. The draw is a bit tricky, but he looks like he may have a bit on these.

BACK: 7 Maxy Bomber – 2 Units (win)

R9 – 10:07pm – VHRC 3yo & Older Maiden Pace – 1680m

6 – Jilliby Zuccini

1 – Malani Joh

7 – Purple Kaida

8 – Sweet Major

Jilliby Zucchini looks the good thing of the night. She is first up for over a year, but she was well supported at her only start as a 2yo and has the benefit of two strong trials at this track. She looks the leader, and you get the best trainer/driver combo of the night. Include in all multis.

BACK: 6 Jilliby Zuccini – 4 Units (win)

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.

It was a day to remember for Aaron Dunn. Not only did he go back-to-back from last year to this year in the Matthews Petroleum Hamilton Pacing Cup, he also trained the quinella, with Forty Love taking the honours and last year’s winner Dee Roe finishing second, driven by Jackie Barker.

While the ink is far from dry on the $500,000 Summer Of Glory bonus cheque, superstar mare Keayang Zahara is on track to provide her connections with a windfall after her effortless win in the Group 1 $100,000 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile.
