GOODFORM – Bronte’s best bets for Thursday night at Kilmore

Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for Thursday’s nine-race card at Kilmore.

R1 – 6.07pm – O’brien Electrical Pace – 2180m

9 – Bearhunta

1 – Leave Your Hat On

7 – Nomorelying

11 – Wingate Guy

Bearhunta has had a lightly raced career but has impressed in his two lifetime performances. With a scratching from barrier eight, he now follows out Leave Your Hat On, a horse with high gate speed. As a result, Bearhunta is likely to be no worse than three back on the fence. I expect him to finish strongly in the final stages.

BACK: 9 Bearhunta – 2 Units (win)

R2 – 6.37pm – Beraldo Coffee Pace – 1690m

3 – Celestial Zodiac

2 – Our Mystery Bet

9 – Clem Mcardle

8 – Budd Sidewinder

When he is on song, Celestial Zodiac has enough gate speed to cross to the front, and he appears to be in career-best form. If he can find the fence, he will be hard to beat.

BACK: 3 Celestial Zodiac – 2 Units (win)

R3 – 7.05pm – Jet Roofing 3yo Maiden Pace – 1690m

3 – Crayons To Perfume

1 – Fifty Seven chevy

11 – Sourthensweet

2 – Hello Possums

R4 – 7.36pm – Tab Pace – 1690m

9 – Guaranteed Secret

8 – Mac Shadow

2 – Icanmotor

6 – Polly Peachum

Guaranteed Secret has been out of the winner’s circle for a while, but his personal times have been solid. Forget his last run, where he got it all wrong. Barrier nine is a good draw for him, as he can settle early, and James Herbertson will get the best out of him in the final stages.

BACK: 9 Guaranteed Secret – 2 Units (win)

R5 – 8.06pm – C&M Build Group Trot – 1690m

4 – Coconut Mickey

7 – Heza Gun

6 – April Sun

8 – Straight To Thetop

Coconut Mickey has been ultra-consistent, placing in each of his six starts this preparation. If he can find the front or a prominent position here, he will be the one to beat. Heza Gun is a talented runner, but he faces a poor barrier draw in this event.

BACK: 4 Coconut Mickey – 2 Units (win)

R6 – 8.36pm – Mc Security Pace – 2180m

3 – Miki Mahoney

6 – Big Bad Ossie

4 – Machane Said

5 – Arnies Army

Miki Mahoney lacks high gate speed, but from barrier three, he should be able to find a forward position. If he can settle in a good spot, he’s racing well enough to win here.

BACK: 3 Miki Mahoney – 2 Units (win)

R7 – 9.06pm – Momentum Gaming Concession Drivers Pace – 1690m

1 – Olly Odd Potts

4 – Micton Mouse

7 – Myboymyboy

5 – Very Tempting

R8 – 9.36pm – Buds & Branches Florist 4yo & Older Maiden Pace – 1690m

7 – Rocknlena

2 – Watching Over Us

6 – Treacherous Jewel

3 – The Feeny Favorite

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
