Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for tonight’s eight-race card at Bendigo.
R1 – 5.34pm – Huntly Lifestyle Estate By Lincoln Place Pace – 2150m
10 – James Garner
4 – Nomorelying
5 – Chirripo
11 – Ruby Wingate
James Garner was good last start at Ararat when finishing third. He sustained a long three-wide run without cover and raced an extra 25 metres wider in the run, only to be narrowly beaten. That was Jordan Leedham’s first drive on the horse, and he goes back on today. He looks a solid each-way play.
BACK: 10 James Garner – 1 unit (win) / 2 units (place)
R2 – 5.59pm – Prydes Easifeed Pace – 2150m
9 – Karuma Kev
8 – Skyfall Benchmark
3 – Foregone Conclusion
4 – Madam Reactor
Karuma Kev is a consistent horse who was impressive last start, making his own luck when racing in the breeze and winning at Shepparton. From barrier nine he should be able to settle into a good position without doing too much early, and he looks capable of going back-to-back.
BACK: 9 Karuma Kev – 2 units (win)
R3 – 6.30pm – Alabar Bloodstock Pace – 1650m
2 – Princess Arna
3 – Wheres Wood Wood
5 – A lot Like Pendles
9 – Written In Silk
Princess Arna resumes after 44 days following a freshen-up. She’s had several gear changes since her last start, but has the gate speed to find a forward position, and on her sectional times she looks a genuine winning chance here.
BACK: 2 Princess Arna – 2 units (win)
R4 – 7.00pm – Gold Central Victoria Trot – 1650m
12 – Blackrange Glory
13 – Rakero Warrior
4 – Star Of Patrick
1 – Brown Eyed Kate
Blackrange Glory is a very talented trotter, but he can get it wrong at times. At his last start, he missed away at the beginning of the event yet still managed to finish second. If he can trot throughout here, he should be winning.
BACK: 12 Blackrange Glory – 2 units (win)
R5 – 7.33pm – Haras Des Trotteurs Trot – 2150m
9 – Just Abit Dusty
5 – Aldebaran Sue
8 – The Dark Thunder
1 – Montana Chevelle
R6 – 8.00pm – Stonemans Village Iga & Liquor Strahdale 2yo Trotters Maiden – 1650m
5 – French Missile
6 – African Gala
8 – Zoolu
1 – Life On The Hill
French Missile is a brilliantly bred three-quarter sister to Always Ready. She won her most recent trial well at Melton. It’s risky tipping a first-starter in a two-year-old trot, but she does have quite a few ticks to her name.
BACK: 5 French Missile – 1 unit (win)
R7 – 8.30pm – Raging Bull @ Llowalong Farms 2yo Maiden Pace
4 – Moonlight Moth
3 – Star To Fall
6 – Listen To The Hand
1 – Amada Villma
R8 – 9.00pm – J & A Mazzetti Painting Pace – 2150m
4 – All Ittook
7 – Havandash Joh
8 – So Joe Ran
5 – Tap To Pay
QUADDIE (Races 5 – 8)
R5 – 1, 5, 8, 9
R6 – 1, 5, 6, 8
R7 – 4
R8 – 4, 7, 8

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
