Cranbourne Harness Racing Club will inject a further $50,000 into prizemoney across a broad range of races across the upcoming Spring period.
This increase lifts the Club’s total prizemoney contribution for the 2025/26 season to approximately $167,000. It includes support for major feature events, such as the Club’s contribution to the Group 1 DECRON Cranbourne Gold Cup and the Group 1 Cranbourne Trotters Cup, both scheduled for Saturday, 31 January 2026.
The $50,000 “Cranbourne Cash Splash” initiative is designed to target races programmed at the lower end of the national ratings scale. Several races at each of Cranbourne’s Sunday meetings throughout Spring will benefit, with prizemoney increases ranging from $500 to $2,000 on top of Harness Racing Victoria’s standard levels.
“The extra prizemoney at Cranbourne is a terrific boost,” trainer/driver Anthony Butt said. “The Club deserves credit for supporting participants and makes it a very attractive option for us when placing horses.”
In addition, CHRC continues to reward participants with a $200 Trainer Win Bonus for every race staged at Cranbourne, paid automatically via HRV’s payment system.
CHRC President David Scott said, “Our Club is committed to investing in our Sunday product at Cranbourne and encouraging trainers to continue racing here.”
Trainers and owners are encouraged to monitor upcoming programs for details of “Cranbourne Cash Splash” races, commencing Sunday, 7 September.
