GOODFORM – TOC’s analysis of Saturday night at Melton

Tim O’Connor has done the form for Saturday night’s nine-race card at Melton Entertainment Park.

R1 – 6.04pm – APG TROT – 1720m

7 – Imperial Command

6 – Keayang Gucci

9 – Kings Guard

10 – Our Marvella

R2 – 6.30pm – HYGAIN VICTORY PACE – 2240m

2 – My Ultimate Barney

9 – Hes All Torque

4 – Calexico

1 – Jaccka Connor

My Ultimate Barney made a mistake last week when trying to lead, but he ran some slick sectionals while off the screen and finishing last. The lead looks his on Saturday night and I’m keen he can lead all the way.

BACK: 2 My Ultimate Barney – 3 units (win)

R3 – 6.59pm – NEVELE R STUD PACE – 2240m

9 – Ultimate Vinnie

3 – Sweetnikkilou

4 – Louie Lou I

2 – Raging Whitebait

Super hard race this, but at the each-way price I think Ultimate Vinnie is worth a small play. He was very good through the line first-up a few weeks ago in a slick last half behind Hes From Heaven and he draws for a nice trip here.

BACK: 9 Ultimate Vinnie – 0.5 unit (each-way)

R4 – 7.37pm – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE – 1720m

4 – Repelling

2 – Surfingmakescents

5 – Forty Love

8 – Rocknroll Walla

Found this a race of many chances, but I have to have something small on Repelling and Rocknroll Walla at the massive prices. Repelling heads here with some really strong form from last preparation and a nice trial, as does Rocknroll Walla, who competed in a string of country cups and feature races early in the year.

BACK: 4 Repelling and 8 Rocknroll Walla – 0.5 unit (each-way)

R5 – 8.10pm – MULTICAM CNC ROUTER BITS PACE – 1720m

5 – Earl Of Pembroke

8 – Viney

3 – Curyo Gentleman

7 – Plains In Heaven

He’s come up huge odds here Earl Of Pembroke for a horse who ran very well despite an unsuccessful early move at Mildura last time out. He was held up to the line and only beaten 13.6m despite doing lots of work. He won two starts ago and chased home Hes From Heaven and Catch A Wave in free-for-all races prior to that. This is much, much easier.

BACK: 5 Earl Of Pembroke – 0.5 unit (win)/1.5 unit (place)

R6 – 8.38pm – HYLAND RACING COLOURS PACE – 1720m

7 – Heza Punk Rocker

4 – Ruff Nutt

8 – Crocodile Socks

1 – Strapping Red

R7 – 9.07pm – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT – 1720m

6 – Ringer Wells

4 – Meadow Valley Star

8 – Gee Cee Calder

1 – Kyvalley Pierro

R8 – 9.37pm – IRT SAPLING STAKES (2YO COLTS & GELDINGS) – 1720m

6 – Letsstartinheaven

2 – Secret Service Agent

7 – Vivid Dream

5 – Kitzbuhel Delight

Letsstartinheaven should be winning this race, but I really think Secret Service Agent can fill second. He won well at Shepparton two runs ago and absolutely savaged the line last week at Geelong when fourth to Rosberg. Draws the pole with the scratching.

BACK: 2 Secret Service Agent – 2 units (place)

R9 – 10.05pm – HIP POCKET CASTLEMAINE TROTTING MARES FREE FOR ALL – 1720m

7 – Jilliby Ballerini

3 – Aldebaran Vera

5 – Maoris Mac

6 – Dichotomy

QUADDIE

5, 8, 3, 7, 4, 9, 1

7, 4, 8

6, 4, 8, 1

6
