Anakin is currently the best-performing horse in this race sectionally. From a slightly awkward barrier, he’s behind a horse with good gate speed, but James Herbertson may also elect to come off the fence. Relying on luck here, but he’s hard to look past.

The lightly raced Zappa looks a promising horse. At his last start at Mildura, he did plenty of work and was eye-catching when finishing second. He hasn’t shown great gate speed yet in his limited career, but he looks good enough to make his own luck.

Montana Chevelle looked the winner last start before galloping around the final corner. I’ve been quite impressed by her runs earlier this preparation. She doesn’t have a great barrier here, but at least she has room to settle early and, if she gets some luck, she’s likely to be right in the finish.
