1. Victorian Local Rules Update
HRV Integrity wishes to advise all participants that the Victorian Local Rules (VLR)have been reviewed and updated, with the new rules coming into effect from 1 January 2026. These updates include important clarifications and amendments aimed at ensuring fairness, safety, and consistency across Victorian harness racing.
Participants are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the revised rules to ensure compliance and avoid any inadvertent breaches. A full copy of the updated rules can be accessed here. Please take the time to review the changes thoroughly and seek clarification from HRV if required. Staying informed of these updates is essential for all participants operating within Victoria.
2. Extreme Weather Policy Reminder
With the warmer months approaching, HRV also reminds all participants of the Extreme Weather Policy, which guides HRV’s approach to both extreme heat conditions and bushfire risk. The policy outlines protocols for race day management, including precautions for horses and participants, as well as contingency measures that may be implemented during extreme weather events.
Participants are responsible for understanding and complying with these measures to protect equine welfare and ensure safe racing operations. A copy of the policy can be accessed here. Please take the time to review it carefully and incorporate its guidance into your race day planning and preparation.
