GOODFORM – Ryan’s tips for Shepparton Tuesday

Ryan Phelan has your tips, strategy and Quaddie for Tuesday night at Shepparton.

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: CHAMPAGNE WALSH (9) was declared a non-runner at Charlton after being denied a fair start, and sectionally he was very strong to the line. That has been the case in his runs prior as well, excellent on the clock without converting to a win. This race presents well for him to sweep home strongly.
WINGATE GUY (12) has won three of his past four and has done it from awkward draws, which he faces again here. With the right tempo, he is a winning hope once more. HEZ HARRYWHO (11) is second-up from a break and can improve back at his home track, while James Herbertson gets the best out of him. KYRGIOS (2) draws softly to map well, and his win two runs back gives him claims over this trip.

BACK: CHAMPAGNE WALSH (9) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: CHAMPAGNE WALSH (9), WINGATE GUY (12), HEZ HARRYWHO (11), KYRGIOS (2)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: SECRETS KEPT (9) was quite good last time out winning her maiden, albeit from a better draw than this. She trails through behind a sharp front row and shouldn’t be too far off them, allowing her to come with one run. If she closes like she did last time, she will be hard to beat.
STYLISTIK (10) will need the speed to be on, but he has been much improved in his past couple with James Herbertson driving. WINSUM BELLA (2) was a good winner three runs back and hasn’t been far away in her past couple under less suitable setups. WARRIORESS (3) struggles to win but has not been far away when able to race forward over this trip.

SELECTIONS: SECRETS KEPT (9), STYLISTIK (10), WINSUM BELLA (2), WARRIORESS (3)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: MYNAMEISRUBY (7) strikes a similar lineup and the same draw as last week, where she was good running second from a long way back. The map is tricky again, but if she can reproduce that effort she will be hard to hold out.
THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (2) is a quick beginner and gets a better draw to race handy and improve on recent form. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (9) trails through and should map well, goes nicely at this track, and was a good winner two starts ago. SHEZABLUECHIP (8) will need luck at some stage but can sprint well late off a soft run.

SELECTIONS: MYNAMEISRUBY (7), THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (2), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (9), SHEZABLUECHIP (8)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: ALDEBARAN BUDDY (4) didn’t have much luck here last week after being restrained at the start, with the race effectively over once he finally got clear. His form prior was solid, and with the right map and tempo he will be hard to beat.
VAN DOREN (1) has been consistent over his past few starts and draws softly at a track he races well at. SAMMY HALLER (2) was quite good to the line last time and, with the right map, will be in the finish. RED KERMIT (6) didn’t really get into it first-up, but with added fitness and a better draw he comes into calculations.

BACK: ALDEBARAN BUDDY (4) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: ALDEBARAN BUDDY (4), VAN DOREN (1), SAMMY HALLER (2), RED KERMIT (4)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: IFYOULOVEMELETMEGO (5) has been in terrific form this preparation and comes here off a strong win last time out in solid time. He can be driven aggressively from this draw, land in a good position, and be hard to catch.
HOME AND DRY (4) had little luck at Cranbourne last time, his prior form was solid, and he gets a nice map here. HIGHVIEW HAMMER (8) was in that same Cranbourne race and had to work very hard, so was entitled to be beaten further. CALIVIL (9) hasn’t shown a lot on paper but continues to attract market interest and is worth keeping safe.

BACK: IFYOULOVEMELETMEGO (5) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: IFYOULOVEMELETMEGO (5), HOME AND DRY (4), HIGHVIEW HAMMER (8), CALIVIL (9)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: ISLAND RUBEE (3) is a question mark having her first run for a strong stable with no public trial. There appeared to be some ability last preparation, and this is not a particularly strong field to make a winning impact.
LITTLE MISS MORGAN (9) showed promise last campaign when trotting cleanly and has won a trial coming into this, so stays under notice. FARSTAR (7) was a forgive run last time when checked, and his prior form was good, although the draw is a concern. CRESCO CASHFLOW (5) has been improved over her past couple from more favourable setups.

SELECTIONS: ISLAND RUBEE (3), LITTLE MISS MORGAN (9), FARSTAR (7), CRESCO CASHFLOW (5)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: LILSTREPO (5) has been in excellent form, winning six of 15 for the new stable. She was outstanding last time out running track-record time, has good gate speed, and those drawn inside may be happy to take cover. If she finds the front, she can be too quick for them.
FIANO (3) is the stablemate and a very quick beginner who could find leaders back, which brings her right into play. DO IT (8) has attracted good market support at his past three starts and hasn’t been far away, if they overdo it up front, he can be strong late. NUGGET ROGERS (7) is becoming costly for punters, but his best is certainly good enough.

SELECTIONS: LILSTREPO (5), FIANO (3), DO IT (8), NUGGET ROGERS (7)

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: EYE SEE PHILTRA (3) has been better than his numerical form suggests in two runs for the new stable. He can afford an aggressive drive here looking for the lead, and if he gets that map will be hard to run down.
GOOD TOBE LOCKSLEY (4) doesn’t win out of turn but was strong to the line last time and finds a more suitable assignment. IM BUTTER BLUE (8) is often better from a front-row draw but has been racing well in similar setups. LOCHEIL LAD (2) is a quick beginner who will likely take cover and use the sprint lane.

SELECTIONS: EYE SEE PHILTRA (3), GOOD TOBE LOCKSLEY (4), IM BUTTER BLUE (8), LOCHEIL LAD (2)

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: BILL (3) w was most unlucky not to win here last week after unsuccessfully pressing for the lead and just missing on the line. Both runs for the new stable have been strong, and this looks his most winnable assignment yet.
ELCHEAPO CLAIRE (2) has been plain at her past few, although she was checked last time. Her earlier form was sound, and she gets a soft map. ALCATRAZ MISS (1) is a 17-start maiden but draws ideally. MANFREDI (5) is fitter here and can improve after an unlucky last run.

BACK: BILL (3) – 4 units (win)

SELECTIONS: BILL (3), ELCHEAPO CLAIRE (2), ALCATRAZ MISS (1), MANFREDI (5)
