Quatro – that’s how many undefeated runs exciting youngster Quatro Moth is aiming to extend her record to this weekend.
Successful at her two starts last season, Quatro Moth returned from a nine-month break to complete a stylish win in Shepparton on January 17.
Poised to contest Saturday night’s Caduceus Classic in Melton, the three-year-old faces an interesting test against ‘the boys’.
In fact, Quatro Moth is the only filly in the $30,000 feature.
“She’s a very nice filly, so we’re sure she will give them something to compete against,” Stewart said. “She beat the colts and geldings in Shepparton and there is no reason why she can’t do it again.
“This is a step up in grade, but she has also improved since her last run.”
A well-bred daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven and Group Three winner Flying Moth, Quatro Moth will begin from barrier three over 1720 metres.
TAB Fixed Odds have Quatro Moth on the second line of betting at $3.40, with Fugitive heading the market at $2.10 from gate five.
Fugitive made his Australian debut for former Victorian trainer Michael Stanley last week, winning in 1:55.6 over 2300 metres at Club Menangle.
The son of Downbytheseaside won last season’s Cardigan Bay Stake in New Zealand for father-and-son combination Cran and Carter Dalgety.
