Need For Speed

THE SERIES

Eligibility for the series is based on futurity payments and will consist of Heats and Finals for each sex.

The series will be held in conjunction with the annual Lyn McPherson Memorial Breed For Speed Series for Trotting Mares in February and March with the Finals being conducted at Tabcorp Park Melton.

The futurity will be contested by 3YO Trotters and is open to any Trotting foal irrespective of place of birth. Any foal sired by a horse that has recorded its fastest time as a Pacer is also eligible to participate however a premium will attach to the late entry of a Pacing Bred horse. Similarly a premium would attach to any late entry of any horse bred as a Trotter with a further premium attaching to any late entry of a Northern Hemisphere bred horse.

HEATS

Heats of each division will be conducted over a distance closest to one mile.

Stake money for each Heat will carry a Total Stake of TBA.

FINAL

In the event there are two (2) Heats of a division, the first three placed horses in each Heat will automatically qualify for the Final. The remaining places in the Final will be determined based on the gross time of each unplaced runner from the Heats.

In the event there are three (3) Heats or more of any division, the first two placed horses in each Heat will automatically qualify for the Final. The remaining places in the Final will be determined based on the gross time of each unplaced runner from the Heats.

The Final will be conducted over 1720m or the distance closest to one mile.

Stake money for each Final will carry a Total Stake of TBA

All races will be random barrier draws.

CONSOLATION FINAL

A Consolation Final will also be conducted for each division.

Preference in field selection will go to horses who recorded the fastest mile rate in the heat.

In the event of there being insufficient acceptors to run both Consolation Finals separately, HRV will combine the final acceptors into a combined sex Consolation Final which would then become PBD/Sex rather than RBD. Preference in field selection will be given to horses who recorded the fastest mile rate in the heat.

Horses qualified for the Final of a division will not be eligible to contest the Consolation Final.

In the event of a Consolation final being run before the Final, the emergency for the Final may scratch out of the Consolation Final penalty free up until final scratchings are declared for the Consolation Final. Should there be no scratchings at such time from the Final, such horse will be scratched from the Final.

Stake money for each Consolation Final will carry a Total Stake of TBA.

STAKE MONEY DISTRIBUTION

Stake money for all races will be distributed under the following format:-

1^st – 50%, 2^nd – 18%, 3^rd – 12.5%, 4^th – 6.25%, 5^th – 3.25%, 6^th to 10^th – 2%.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

HRV reserves the right to make any alterations or amendments to these conditions that it considers necessary in the overall best interests of the conduct of the Need For Speed.

SCHEDULE OF PAYMENT

ALL SERIES

Foal Nomination Fee
Australian Foals – Nomination to be sent to HRV by 1st August ($88)
New Zealand Foals- Nomiantion to be sent to HRV or HRNZ by 1st August ($88AUD or $100NZ)

Yearling Nomination Fee
Yearling Nomination Fee ($220) to be sent to HRV by 1st August.

Series Fee ($440). Series Fee will not be cancelled.

3yo Acceptance Fee
Proactively invoiced 1^st June, due 1st August. Horse will be withdrawn if payment not received by 15th August.
