Three exciting first-season sires and 10 other world-class stallions including this season’s leading first crop sire On A Streak and the leading two-year-old sire Classic Connection are part of a strengthened lineup at Yabby Dam Farms this season.
“It’s probably our best stallion roster to date, with a great selection of chilled and frozen semen sires and a mixture of European and American bloodline,” Yabby Dam Farms principal Pat Driscoll said.
“But I guess the biggest news out of YDF for this current breeding season is our on-farm offer and our new races series. We are endeavouring to assist breeders with their breeding costs.”
The three-time French Group 1 winner Booster Winner and one of the premier North American juvenile sires In Range will be available via frozen semen from Yabby Dam Farms for the first time.
A son of the great Love You, Booster Winner, who won seven Group events and $1.6 million in stakes, has sired seven Group 1 winners to date headed up by the Prix D’Amerique winner Hooker Berry, a winner of 13 Group races and $3 million, the German Breeders Crown champions Fragolino Rosso and Xalina B and the French and Italian Group 1 winner Jabalpur.
In Range, a 1:51.8, $793,000 winning grandson of Muscle Hill, has made somewhat of a spectacular start to his stud career. From 83 foals in his first crop, he produced 58 starters and progeny earnings of $2.6 million, an average of $32,000 per foal.
In Range was the second leading first season sire in 2025 and third on the overall list behind Chapter Seven and Captain Corey and is currently ranked fourth on the three-year-old table with $1.1 million.
Among his progeny are last year’s USA 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year Setyoursightshigh 1:53.2 ($678,159) and the Ohio Breeders Championship winners Big Ranger 1:50.6 ($487,560), Demonic Niko and Rose Run Banker.
Another newcomer to the Yabby Dam roster is the brilliant, young stallion Enchauffour, a product of the highly rated Volstead and the first son of the Cantab Hall horse to enter stud duties in Australia.
Enchaffour only raced as a two and three-year-old, totting up five wins including the Breeders Crown 2YO Final and six placings from 15 starts.
A member of one of France’s premier maternal families, Enchauffour is standing his first season at Darryl Brown’s Wai Eyre Farm in New Zealand’s south island and is available exclusively to NZ breeders.
Joining Enchaffour at Wai Eyre under the Yabby Dam banner are the record-breaking USA Breeders Crown 2YO champion On A Streak 1:52.8 ($920,120) and the young French bred stallion Classic Connection 1:54.1 ($614,631).
On A Streak’s first stock are currently racing as two-year-olds in Australia and include the undefeated filly Bumper Crop, the winner of the Listed $75,000 Nutrien Sales 2YO Classic, a smart colt in Frazzled and the filly La Venture, who has finished runner-up in her two starts including the Group 3 NZ Trotting Stakes.
Classic Connection, a highly credentialled son of Love You and the USA 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year Crys Dream, is represented by 10 winners from his first crop of only 22 foals now racing as three-year-olds. He has a 45 percent winners-to-foals ratio and a 71 percent ratio of winners-to-starters from his initial crop.
Classic Connection’s stock include the Group 2 $50,000 NSW 3YO Trot Final winner Cee Cee In Paris, the Victorian Listed winner Afternoon Breeze and this season’s juvenile winners Remembrance Time, Pozzi Tonozzi, Kyvalley Diablo and Insulator.
The royally bred Muscle Hill horse E L Titan 1:51.4 ($726,344), who is standing at the Goulburn Valley Equine Clinic, Shepparton, has proven a great success in America with 30 in the 1:55 list, 107 in 2:00 and the winners of $14.5 million.
E L Titan’s first ‘down under’ crop of yearlings averaged $31,333 at sales across Australia and NZ with a pair of fillies fetching $90,000 and $70,000 in Melbourne and a colt realising $50,000 at Karaka, NZ.
The French import Callmethebreeze (1:53), a $1.7 million winning son of Trixton and a winner at Group 1 level in both hemispheres, is lining up for his second season at Yabby Dam Farms.
The winner of the $300,000 Great Southern Star and the $100,000 NSW Hammerhead Mile, Callmethebreeze served 38 mares last season and 34 had positive tests.
The former Australian 2YO and 4YO Trotting Colt/Entire of the Year Always Ready 1:56 ($306,360), a royally bred son of the 10-time premier French stallion Ready Cash, is again standing at Pete and Chantal Turpin’s Somerset Farms in Queensland.
The Yabby Dam Farms’ lineup includes seven frozen semen stallions from Europe and North America.
Besides In Range and Booster Winner, the farm is offering the French stallions Orlando Vici, who boasts a 100 percent winners-to-starters record in Australia including the superstar Just Believe and the talented juvenile Verbici 1:57.7 ($77,709), who is unbeaten in four starts including the Listed Nutrien Classic and the Group 2 NSW Trot Final.
The frozen semen roster also includes the USA Breeders Crown champion and dual Prix D’Amerique winner Bold Eagle 1:50 ($7 million), the Love You millionaire Village Mystic, the sire of the Group 1/Listed Australian winners Courmayeur and Amandine, the highly acclaimed Walner horse Winner’s Bet 1:49.6 ($1.3 million), and the French bred duo Ecurie D 1:49.2 ($1.8 million) and the Ready Cash stallion Brillantissime 1:55.2 ($1.4 million), the sire of the cups winner Hopeful Beauty and this season’s Nutrien 3YO Classic winner Aldebaran Ada.
