OVERVIEW:The 2019 Aldebaran Park Vicbred Platinum Trotting Mares sprint Championship series has already hosted some super heats but it goes to another level here with this small but super high quality field. Former pacer PANTZUP (5) came a long way in a short time last campaign but her efforts so far this preparation, which included an arrogant last start success in a heat of this series from the breeze would suggest she’s still on a brisk upward trajectory. She doesn’t fly the arm so that is always a concern but with her speed and strength she’s the one to toll again. If there’s to be a mini-upset here it should come from ALDEBARAN KIRI (3). A somewhat temperamental mare she started $3.30 despite drawing outside the back in heat of this series two starts back but made an early error and played no meaningful part. Tonight she draws to lead and bowl along and if she does things right she’ll be crazy tough to catch. From a class perspective the other key runner is clearly two-time Vicbred Super Series winner MOONSHINE LINDA (6) though her trials would suggest that she will benefit from the run while MYRTLE VALE (7) also has loads of natural talent but just can’t seem to put her right hoof forward.
