OVERVIEW: SPESHAL (5) has been placed at her past four attempts and deserves to break through for a win. She worked to the front, took cover at the 1100m and ran a game second behind Ripping Ronaldo at Maryborough two starts ago. GREAT HORIZON (4) is a maiden from 21 starts but she is trotting consistently and is worth thought. She was headed off at the start, settled three back on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage at her latest fourth. LEZAMA (3) is likely to progress forward at the start and will take catching if she is able to run to the lead in the early stages. She battled on bravely for a close second behind Keayang Zia at Geelong two starts ago. DONNYOSKO (1) is resuming since a third behind the talented trotter Verbici in May and hasn’t been to the trials. He is a juvenile trotter taking on older horses but he has shown enough ability to be competitive from the pole position.

| 7 | 002186 | WHATS THE TEA Dr: James Herbertson | Ross Graham | James Herbertson | 2 | $3.6 |
OVERVIEW: RASTAMON (6) appeared to have his chance after leading from the standing start at his latest fourth but his overall form is good enough to be competitive against this line up. He progressed forward to find the lead and scored at Stawell two starts ago. WHATS THE TEA (7) has made errors at his past two attempts but he is usually competitive against this class and he proved to be too strong after racing without cover on July 10 so he is worth another chance. SNICKERS EXPRESS (4) broke stride at the 600m and lost his chance when unplaced at Horsham last outing. He ran a nice race for third behind Moreep in a race of more depth prior so he must be considered amongst the leading chances. BUCKLES FOR BERRY (3) possesses early speed and will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. She endured a tough run at her latest sixth and will take catching if she is able to find the lead.

| 8 | VAPAR JOHN Dr: Jason Lee | Kelly Stuart-Mitchell | Jason Lee | 6 | $11 | ||||
OVERVIEW: RINGMERONNIE (3) is a first starter for trainer Jess Tubbs, which has shown promise in several recent trial performances including a close second behind the top 2yo trotter Verbici. She is nicely drawn first up and is likely to attract plenty of support. THE PASO DOBLE (2) went very quickly in the early stages and was a clear leader mid-race before breaking stride at the 150m at Ballarat. He was probably going to finish in second place but he was still a winning possibility when he broke stride so he has the ability to go well here if he delivers a fool proof display. PIPALICIOUS (1) was resuming since April when second behind Miss Muscle at Melton. She is a fast beginner and is drawn to receive every chance so she is capable of going one better. NO REPENTANCE (4) and JET PLANE (7) both are capable of showing up without surprising.

OVERVIEW: MORNING DOVE (6) is resuming since a second behind the handy filly Queen of Sees at Maryborough in May. She was a runaway winner at Bendigo three starts ago and she will be fitter after a recent Echuca trial performance so she must be respected. METRO SWISH (4) settled three back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished solidly for third at Ballarat on Wednesday. She is a speedy mare that has been placed in three of her past four starts and should be competitive again. POPPY POPSTAR (7) began well from a wide draw and moved up without cover when a creditable fourth at Ballarat last outing. She trailed the leader and finished second in record time at Echuca on July 07 and she is likely to make her presence felt. STEADY DREAM (3) and BOUTIKA (5) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

OVERVIEW: SECRET SERVICE AGENT (9) is a very smart pacer and is clearly the horse to beat. He made ground from a long way back when a big third behind Lowrider at Melton after a third behind Midnight Moth in fast time at Geelong so he appears to be well placed here. EYESEALITTLE (5) went to the line jogging with no clear run when an unlucky sixth at Mildura then made some ground for fourth at Horsham. She is a versatile pacer and should run her usual honest race. JUST PEDRO (7) continues to perform consistently against this class and is capable of filling a place. He commenced from the inside of the second line and made a mid-race move to park without cover from the 1200m when a creditable fourth last outing. SPORTS WRACK (2) possesses early speed and is drawn to receive every chance. He is a place hope along with LET’S GO LORNA (3), which finished off well via inside runs at her latest third.

OVERVIEW: SOME MAGIC (1) is rising in class on his three starts to date but he has been impressive and scored comfortably at Geelong last outing so a bold showing is expected. ISTHISTHEREALLIFE (6) is also a lightly raced pacer that possesses ability and should be competitive. She made an early move from the second half of the field to find the lead at the 1500m and scored nicely at Horsham last outing after an easy victory in fast time at Stawell. KATUNGA EXPRESS (5) was caught wide early and pushed forward to race without cover when a handy third behind Telemachus at Ballarat. He is racing in good form and is not without a chance. MONTANA PRIDE (2) struck trouble and had excuses last outing after two placed efforts at Melton. He is a speedy pacer and cannot be left out of calculations.

| 11 | 6261r3 | JOHNS BOY NZ Dr: Chris Alford | Brent Lilley | Chris Alford | 9% | 4 | $3.2 |
OVERVIEW: JOHNS BOY (11) commences from the handicap of 20m but he is a very quick beginner from the standing start and has been racing in good form with his latest third being in strong grade at Menangle. Ten of his eleven career victories have been from the standing start so he is suited under these conditions. KEAYANG TWEETYBIRD (9) holds the key to the result. She is a very smart mare and was a runaway winner from the standing start three starts ago but she has been on her worst behaviour at her past two attempts. JACK SPRAT (8) is a strong type and progressed forward to find the lead shortly after the start when an effortless winner at Melton last outing. He performs best when he is close to the speed so commencing from the handicap of 10m is a disadvantage but he is too good to dismiss. EL CONQUEROR (4) and ANTONOV (7) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish and TICTOK (10) has claims if she puts her best foot forward.

| 11 | 202213 | SPORTING RAGE Dr: James Herbertson | Mark Boyle | James Herbertson | 2 | $5.0 | |||
OVERVIEW: MILOLA ROCK (9) is a former New South Wales trained pacer, which ran an eye-catching second at her local debut, where she commenced from the inside of the second line, settled three back on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage before finishing off fast. This race is no harder and she is capable of going one better now. MYRTLE MAY (10) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane and finished off best to win at Maryborough prior to a strong second at Swan Hill. She faces a negative swing in the barrier draw but is worth thought again. SPORTING RAGE (11) is also disadvantaged by being drawn on the second row considering most of his best efforts have come when he has been able to lead but he is in fine form and warrants consideration. TACTICS ARE ROLLIN (7) did well from behind the leader at Horsham last week and has claims along with BLUE MIKI (8).

OVERVIEW: IMEASYCOMEEASYGO (1) is a beautifully bred first starter, which has had two trials at Terang for a second and win. The latest victory was in reasonable time and he is drawn to go well first up. DREAMS FOREVER (4) makes her debut for trainer Allan McDonough and has been placed in all of her three trial performances. She won at her latest Melton trial attempt and is likely to attract plenty of support. LAKE COMO (2) was beaten by a narrow margin at her only trial effort and is drawn to receive every chance so he must be respected. Trainer Aaron Dunn is represented by two first starters in SHORE BET (3) and BEACHBOY BRUCE (5). Both horses have performed fairly well in recent trial efforts and must be kept safe.
