Some of the big questions were asked and answered on the eve of the Pryde's EasiFeed Victoria Cup when Todd McCarthy and Greg Sugars joined RSN 927.

The reinsman pulling the strings behind front row runners Tiger Tara and Im The Boss in Saturday night's $200,000 Group 1 joined Cody Winnell and Riley Phelan on this week's One Out One Back.

McCarthy said he was "really happy" with last Saturday's fast finishing second placing behind stablemate Majordan, when Tiger Tara "felt as if he was probably getting back to where he was last season".

The Kevin Pizzuto-trained 2017 Inter Dominion placegetter has drawn well again for Saturday night's Victoria Cup, lining up from gate two, directly inside race favourite Chicago Bull.

"He's always been pretty lucky through these big races with his draw and I think that's probably helped us out a bit," McCarthy said. "He always seems to show up in the big races and hopefully he's thereabouts on Saturday."

So, can he find the front?

"I think on the bigger tracks he's not as quick as some of the really fast horses off the gate, but when it comes back to the 1000m (Melton) and half-mile tracks, like in Perth, he seems to have a bit more gate speed," McCarthy said.

"If he gets out the best he can he's a good chance to being able to hold up, but in saying that there is a ton of speed off the front there. We will just have to do our best early and see where we end up."

Also drawn the front row is David Aiken's Im The Boss, who will start from gate four, immediately outside Chicago Bull.

With Kima Frenning commited to stablemate Wrappers Delight, Greg Sugars will take his reins for the first time since September 2015.

Sugars said "on paper it looks to have the makings of a pretty keenly contested race, especially the first few 100 metres, wherever they settle after they go for three quarters of a lap is really going to tell the story".

"It's one of those races that's on any driver's radar, it's such a long-standing historical race on the calendar. We've probably got a tough ask from where we are and what needs to happen in the run, but if I can get up in the money I'll be rapt.

"Nearly the whole front line are go forward gate speed horses, especially the couple inside of us, they are probably the two main acts in Chicago Bull and Tiger Tara. It's going to make it hard for us out wide if they want to kick up maintain their position."
