How should you tackle Vicbred Super Series night? TrotsVision trio Jason Bonnington, Shannon O'Sullivan and Dan Mielicki and Sky Racing's Brittany Graham have stepped in to try and help you turn a profit.

The quartet have delivered their $200 game plans, hunting value amid the stunning 12 Group 1s up for grabs at Melton tonight.

JASON BONNINGTON

BEST BET ($40 WIN): RACE 6 NO.8 ALDEBARAN ZEUS
On a night where most, if not all favour-ites are shorter than they should be, this bloke offers punters the chance to re-sponsibly open the shoulders and at least return a profit representing more than double what they outlaid. For whatever reason, Aldebaran Zeus has never en-joyed the respect he deserves, but based on speed, versatility and overall record, he has his rivals covered so forget the awkward alley and trust in the genius of Australasia’s winningest reinsman Chris Alford.

BEST VALUE ($10 WIN & $20 PLACE): RACE 8 NO.4 HEZA SON OF AGUN & NO.9 ROARFORROSCOE
Look, there’s every chance that budding megastar Catch A Wave will put his clas-sic-age adversaries to the sword this evening, but he did get beaten more than 20m last week and has plenty of speed drawn inside so we’re taking him on. Heza Son Of Agun is drawn to disadvan-tage and has mercurial tendencies, but when he’s on – as he was in his semi-final – he’s on. And his trainer-driver Mattie Craven is brilliant at targeting features such as this. Equally, Roarfor-roscoe is trending upward at pace and if they record a mind-boggling lead time – which is possible – he might be the one.

FLEXI TRIFECTA: RACE 10: 5/10,13/1,4,8,10,13 ($40 for 500%)
There are plenty of shorties on tonight’s Group 1 card, but not many you’d bet your life on. If you were forced into that situation, the absolute lock is Cravache Dor in the final for three-year-old trot-ting colts and geldings. From a class per-spective, the silver medal honours should be fought out between Plymouth Chubb and Courage Stride, but we’ve thrown a few others in for third in case one of those pair makes an error or sim-ply underperforms.

EARLY QUADDIE (RACES 1-4): 4/5,9,10/1,12/2,6,10,12 ($60 for 250%)
If all the early favourites roll in as many expect, we’ll obviously lose folding gear via this early Quaddie. If we get just one of the shorties beaten, however, we’ll comfortably square the ledger and if Watts Up Partytime, Revelstoke and Dougs Platter all happened to lob, we’ll be singing Auld Lang Syne until February 5.

BRITTANY GRAHAM (Sky Racing)

BEST BET ($50 WIN): RACE 5 NO.10 TOUGH TILLY
SO often in these Group 1 contests we are swayed by the all-important barrier draw and look away from the obvious, but ToughTilly is the four-year-old mare to beat here. When stablemate Ladies In Red isn’t around, she is the dominant force in this division and proved that  with her crushing semi-final victory. Her name says it all. Will be too strong again.

BEST VALUE ($30 WIN & $20 PLACE): RACE 4 NO.2 PERFECT CLASS
THIS sometimes wayward schoolboy is a serious racehorse and he will prove it on the big stage tonight. Very good when second in the Breeders Crown final - beating The Lost Storm convincingly, despite a more economical run - he gets his opportunity to clinch Vicbred success here. He’s not as professional as his more fancied stablemate, but has the early speed to find himself far further forward in the run and the ball is then in his court.

BEST ROUGHIE ($10 EACH-WAY): RACE 8 NO.12 LIGHTNING DAN
THIS three-year-old colts and geldings’ event could provide a hectic early tempo, and for $130,000, you would ex-pect all parties to press the button. Light-ning Dan was quite unlucky in behind Hes Charlies Angel in the semi-final and his last 50m was his best. He is going to need a lot of luck from the barrier draw, but will be charging home and I’m hop-ing there are a few weary soldiers ahead of him.

EARLY QUADDIE (RACES 1-4): 4/5,9,10/1/2,12 ($40 for 666.66%)
IT’S a risky manoeuvre to go one-out in juvenile trotting races, but no filly de-serves a Group 1 more this season than Rockinwithattitude. Courmayeur looks the clear runner to beat from the draw in race three, we will play a little wider in an even second leg and I think Perfect Class is a big hope against The Lost Storm in the closer.

QUADDIE (RACES 5-8): 10/1,2,8/2,3,10/3,4,12 ($40 for 148.14%)
TOUGH Tilly is my lock of the evening and we will start one-out with her in the opening leg before playing a little wider-through a more open middle portion of the night. If we find ourselves alive head-ing into the final leg, all our hopes and-dreams will be with Lightning Dan at a massive price!

DAN MIELICKI (RACECALLER)

BEST BET ($100 WIN): RACE 2 NO.5 HIDE AND SEEK
Showed he is heading to the top grade with a dominant win in his Vicbred heat at Maryborough when having his first start for new trainer Jess Tubbs. He pulled late ground off The Locomotive when they met in May and the swing in barriers could be the difference this time.

BEST VALUE ($20 WIN & $40 PLACE): RACE 11 NO.4 HEZA SON OF AGUN
Outstanding semi-final victory last week when he led all the way. Although un-likely he can cross Catch A Wave at the start, he’s no one-trick pony. Has found his mojo and looks like he is back to his best now. He won the two-year-old div-ision of this series last year coming from off the speed and looks over the odds.

EARLY QUADDIE (RACES 1-4): 4,10/5,10/1/2,12 ($16 for 200%)
I think there are only limited chances in all four legs and only a small hope of get-ting any value. I am happy to put my faith into Courmayeur as the anchor, however the likelihood is high that the four favourites will be winning. Being trotting races, the main risk is that the key hopes make mistakes.

QUADDIE (RACES 1-5): 4,10/1,2,8/2,3/3,4 ($24 for 100%)
Like the early Quaddie, I can’t identify much value as there only looks to be two or three winning hopes in each leg. Tough Tilly and Dougs Babe are the key players in race five, while Locksley Lover, Dont Care and Aldebaran Zeus will do me in the sixth event. Race seven is the highlight of the night and I think Major Moth and Better Eclipse are the two main chances, and we will come home with the freakish Catch A Wave and value runner Heza Son Of Agun in the last leg.

SHANNON O'SULLIVAN (TROTSVISION)

BEST BET ($50 WIN): RACE 6 NO.2 DONT CARE
This horse is such a casual character, but when asked to go he gets the job done comfortably. Had a freshen-up coming into this series and seems to be getting fitter, boasting a 13m win over his rivals in the heat last start. He may have to work to get the front, but it will be the smart decision to put the favourite Alde-baran Zeus three back on the fence early.

BEST VALUE ($30 WIN): RACE 4 NO.2 PERFECT CLASS
This is a horse that I think has flown a little under the radar in the Emma Stew-art camp, especially when you have the likes of The Lost Storm to talk about. The draw here is a major advantage to Perfect Class and I think they will be using it in their favour early. What we need is a helmet to follow that will get this horse to the sprint lane, a strong tempo and The Lost Storm to be parked outside the leader. If all that happens, Perfect Class is the one to be on.

BEST ROUGHIE ($10 WIN & $30 PLACE): RACE 8 NO.1 HOT DEAL
We have to remember this horse ran a gallant third in the NSW Derby behind the best three-year-old we have seen in this country and has only been out of the top five once in his racing career. He gets such an economical draw here, and if he’s able to sit directly behind likely leader and favourite Catch A Wave, then he is a serious hope for at least a place.

FLEXI TRIFECTA (RACE 6): 2/1,8,13/1,3,6,8,9,13 ($30 for 200%)
Dont Care is my top pick in this event and we will take him to win only, with second place to be fought out by Lock-sley Lover, Aldebaran Zeus and Aldeba-ran Dino. They are a class above some of the other horses, but you can throw in a few who have been running eye-catch-ing races for third.

QUADDIE (RACES 5-8): 4,10,12/1,2,8,13/1,2,3,10/1,2,3,4,9 ($50 for 20.83%)
There are a few chances here in the main Quaddie races. I see Tough Tilly toughing it out in the first leg and she should be too good for her rivals despite the draw, but Dougs Babe and Tay Tay also go in as cover. I’ve included the four big guns in the four-year-old trot for the boys, while the last two legs also have a few chances so I have gone wide to try and cover those.
