All or nothing for Golino ahead of Queensland’s winter carnival

Yabby Dam Farms-trainer, Anton Golino is still weighing up his options on whether he sends a team to Queensland or not ahead the Constellation series.

“At this stage it is a chance, but it is not set in stone, we are hoping to possibly go up with a couple, it is a bit of a long shot with a few things needing to go right,” Golino said.

The Cardigan horseman would be keen on sending a few familiar faces up to the Sunshine State, alongside a new mare to the stable.

“It would be Im Ready Jet , Val Thorens, Preferred Love and a mare who is coming back now, who is quiet a nice mare called, Belle Neige,” he said.

“They are the ones at this stage who could possibly go.”

Golino, 43, thinks the $150,000 Group 1, The Great Square for three and four-year-old trotters would suit Belle Neige.

“The ideal situation would be to take Belle Neige to go in that Great Square,” he said. “But she has only had three lifetime starts and one win.

“She is going to have to really put her hand up in the next six weeks, if we are going to go. It is in the back of our minds, but it is not by any means set in stone, it could go either way.”

Multiple Group 1 winner, Im Ready Jet, would be the first choice for a trip up north.

“If I was to make a decision today, she (Im Ready Jet) would be the one that would go,” he said.  “If I was to go, I would go with three or four, I wouldn’t just go with one.”
