Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) CEO Dayle Brown today confirmed the Victoria Cup would be held on Saturday night October 10.

Brown told Sky Racing’s Adam Hamilton that “harness racing’s iconic events had moved around a lot” in recent years and as a result people had lost track of some of the major events.

“It’s important we solidify when these major events are to be run, so the Victoria Cup will stay on the 10th of October,” Brown said.

“It’s a very strong wagering day following the Caulfield Guineas and I can also announce the Redwood will be on Sunday 1st of November.”

Brown said Victoria’s latter part of the year would be “filled with some great feature and group racing”, highlighting the Breeders Crown in November and the Vicbred Super Series grand finals on New Year’s Eve at Tabcorp Park Melton.
