Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards have implemented a temporary order to licensed participants which states as follows.

Any licensed participant who has competed (attended a race or trial meeting) interstate must not attend race or trial meetings in Victoria until they have self-quarantined for 14 days and returned two negative COVID-19 tests.  The first test must be within three days of arrival and the second test 13 days after returning to Victoria (effective 11.59pm, 28 July 2021). All tests and subsequent results must be reported to HRV using the COVID test reporting form.

Victorian harness racing meetings will continue to be only open to essential personnel only until further notice. This means only licensed participants with a horse engaged at the meeting or staff required to run the meeting. Owners and the general public are currently not able to attend.

Failure to comply with above requirements may attract significant penalties, including periods of disqualification under Australian Harness Racing Rule 238, which states: A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or to the harness racing industry.
