WARRAGUL 14/12/19

Trial 1: - AMAZING DAISY began quickly to find the lead and was always in control. She dashed clear approaching the home turn and won by a comfortable margin. CHANCE TO DANCE settled four back on the markers and came to the outside approaching the home turn. She finished strongly to run second ahead of LADY MAJESTIC. LADY MAJESTIC settled three back on the inside and paced roughly several times in the last circuit, losing momentum. She picked up ground once she balanced up in the straight and did well to finish third. END GAME trailed the leader and yielded ground from the home turn to finish fourth. MASTER SPARK galloped as the starter said go and lost valuable ground. He chased hard in the early stages to try and tack on but the effort took a toll and he dropped out to finish a long last.

TERANG 15/12/19

Trial 1: - Trainer Matthew Craven trained the Trifecta in the opening trial with the classy performer MASTER MOONLITE proving superior for his rivals. The 2018 Queensland Derby winner hasn’t raced since January but his trial form suggests he will have a good campaign. IMASPORTSSTAR finished in second position ahead of the qualifier MALIBU JACK (Grinfromeartoear – Classic Malibu 1.59.4, $72,665), which has had numerous trials leading up to his debut. ABOUTAGIRL finished last of the four runners.

Trial 2: - The undefeated 3yo trotter KEAYANG IGNITE continued his good run of form by taking out trial two. He easily defeated the last start Ballarat runner up JILLIBY BULLDOG and I STAND ALONE continued his extensive trial campaign by finishing in third position. The unraced qualifiers came in at the tail with ALDEBARAN TESS (Muscle Hill – Solar Powered) finishing fourth ahead of the juvenile SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR (Shadow Play – Flamingo Rose 2.1.6, $31,250).

Trial 3: - ROCKNROLL OPAL hasn’t started since being stood down for two trials at Horsham in May. He was able to take out the final trial ahead of the Kindergarten Stakes winner DOCTOR FOX with ELITA, which has recently joined trainer Matthew Craven, finishing in third position. BLUE VEIN FITZ followed a handy trial effort at Hamilton with a fourth in front of the unusually named WATCHFORTHEEMOTE (Courage Under Fire – Lewisienna Jo 1.57.3, $46,081). KARIAH BLISS (Artesian – Kariah Bella) finished last of the six runners.

MILDURA 15/12/19

Trial 1: - GOTTA GO JOSIE (Gotta Go Cullect – Flick The Switch 2.0.6, $24,930) trailed the leader WICKED AZZ before coming to the outside in the home straight. She extended very nicely in the home straight and got up to beat WICKED AZZ on the line. CORNWALL CLASSIC was one out and one back behind CELEBRITA and switched back to the markers when RUBY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Larilla Lace 2.3.2, $13,585) galloped with 600m remaining. He worked home reasonably well for third in front of MISS SUGARANSPICE, which missed approximately 20-30m in the score up. CELEBRITA dropped out to fifth after racing in the death seat and RUBY REACTOR ended up running a long last.

Trial 2: - KILLER DRAGON progressed forward to find the lead at the 1700m mark and he was always in a dominant position. He kicked clear on the home turn and won easily. NEVAEVABEND settled last of the six runners but was able to work into the one out and one back trail at the bell. She finished off well to run second and was well clear of the remainder of the pack. SHE SAID YES led out then took cover and battled away for third just in front of FLAME BLASTER, which settled four back on the markers before moving into the death seat at the bell. NO EMOTION (Grinfromeartoear – Sokysokylala 2.3.6, $1,859) settled five back on the markers and ran past HES A MODERN BOY (3 back markers) to finish in fifth.

Trial 3: - CLASSIC ARC settled last on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail with 500m remaining. He came to the outside approaching the home turn and finished off too well. He has been disappointing since coming to Mildura but that trial was encouraging. YARRARA BEN began quickly and ended up trailing the leader FORTITUDO. He moved to the outside at the 700m mark and put pressure on FORTITUDO before drawing to the lead as the field turned out of the back straight. He fought on well but couldn’t repel the challenge of CLASSIC ARC. HEADMASTER settled three back on the markers and followed YARRARA BEN throughout. He just failed to overhaul YARRARA BEN in the run to the finish. FORTITUDO yielded ground from the 400m mark and finished in last of the four runners.

KYABRAM 15/12/19

Trial 1: - MILLYS MAGIC showed promise during her juvenile season having been placed in four of her eight starts. She took out the opening trial from MISS METRO and there was a large gap to OUR ART WORK (Artiscape – Our Poppi Girl) in third position. SPIDER DUNBAR hasn’t raced since June 2017 and he came in last of the three runners.

MARYBOROUGH 15/12/19

Trial 1: - It was a very strong trial to open proceedings with YEJELE HAMMER getting the prize by a narrow margin over PERSPECTIVE. YEJELE HAMMER trailed PERSPECTIVE and the pair staged a good battle down the straight. YOUAREMY SUNSHINE produced an excellent trial performance and shot along the sprint lane in the latter stages from fifth. IMA SHOWGIRL was in fourth position and gained a one out and one back trail behind YEJELE HAMMER with 500m remaining. She finished fourth in front of MIA FROM MEMPHIS, which peeled out wide sixth and loomed up in the straight. JULES PEACH finished sixth after racing three back on the markers and ATTACKNRHYTHM was last throughout.

BLACKBOOKER: - Youaremy Sunshine

Trial 2: - SAVANNAH JAY JAY JAY settled down last of the four runners and followed DELTASUN throughout. DELTASUN moved up without cover from the half mile marker and hit the lead with 500m remaining. He battled on courageously but SAVANNAH JAY JAY was able to grab him on the line. IONA SPIDER pushed past the early leader ARRESTED to find the front running position at the 1700m mark. He set up a genuine tempo but was headed off at the 500m mark. ARRESTED was under pressure with 800m remaining and came in last of the four runners.

Trial 3: - SPEEDSTAR QUEEN began well to find the markers first but took cover behind ACES JETT (Bettors Delight – Donna Rosso). She then moved around to find the lead and set up a slow tempo. She dashed clear in the back straight, was joined on the home turn then fought on in the straight to win by a length. LENNY TEE (Betterthancheddar – Our Pocket Princess) settled four back on the markers and came to the outside on the home turn. He moved up to join SPEEDSTAR QUEEN on the home turn but peaked on his run a little in the home straight. HIGH CHAIR (Julius Caesar – Diamonds Inthedark) settled three back on the markers but was shuffled back to last in the back straight when ACES JETT began to yield ground. He worked home fairly well to get past SHARK LUCK (5 back markers/ 1-1) and ACES JETT dropped out to be last of the five runners.

Trial 4: - IOLANTA is a very smart filly and was able to win the trial with plenty in reserve. She trailed the leader and her stable mate SOHO GLORIA JANE before coming to the outside and coasting to victory. DAWNS PEACH settled three back on the markers and drove through to trail the leader when IOLANTA moved away from the pegs with 600m remaining. She dropped off in the straight but was able to hold down third in front of DUBLIN STREET, which was last throughout.

Trial 5: - DELTA SUNRISE (Tennotrump – Deltasu) led comfortably in what was a very slow start to the trial with no horse showing any real speed early. He set up a slow tempo throughout and was able to kick on too well at the finish. PACIFIC ROCK (Pet Rock – Shesasign) settled three back on the markers and moved to the outside in the back straight. He finished determinedly and missed out by a narrow margin. MISSTHIRDTIMELUCKY (Julius Caesar – Misseinstein 1.59.5, $16,744) settled four back on the markers and paced roughly at the 400m when YERING BROMAC galloped in front of her. She recovered and picked up to run into a distant third. LORIMERLAGG settled down in last position and was able to get past CREATIVEACCOUNTANT (Modern Art – Mymumsabankmanager 1.58.8, $16,203) (5 back markers) and YERING BROMAC (Roll With Joe – Seshny Bromac 1.53.9, $124,554), which trailed the leader and broke stride when attempting to move away from the markers at the 400m mark.

Trial 6: - NAMOSCAR (Ready Cash – Heavens Above) settled four back on the markers and moved to the outside to follow SPEEDWAY QUEEN with 700m remaining. He was left without cover when SPEEDWAY QUEEN had room to duck onto the markers but he was able to produce a big finish and got up on the line. SKY EAGLE progressed forward to find the front from the early leader LA BELLA FIGURA. He set up a slow tempo and was able to kick on for second, without being pushed in the latter stages. TURTLE settled last on the markers and worked through via an inside run into third in front of SPEEDWAY QUEEN (3 back markers) and LA BELLA FIGURA finished last of the five runners.

Trial 7: - STAR PUPIL (Alta Christiano – Lady Dynamo) settled last of the five runners and never appeared to be travelling well at any stage but was able to pick up in the straight and land the prize. ROBS LEGACY came from four back on the markers and was finishing well but didn’t have the acceleration of STAR PUPIL, which came from behind him. NEVER TOO OLD (Julius Caesar – Miss Bonton 2.1.7, $37,916) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane. He paced roughly in the home straight but was able to pick up third in front of the early leader ROUGH CUT and ORPHAN CODY (Grinfromeartoear – Can Y Gwent 1.59.8, $21,055) finished in last position after settling three back on the markers and moving into the death seat with 700m remaining.

Trial 8: - GHANASUYA trailed the leader BONTON SUNSHINE (Sunshine Beach – Bonton Lady) and was inconvenienced when that horse galloped with 500m remaining but he was able to pick up again and pressed ahead to win the trial comfortably. GOODTIME MARIAH (Shadyshark Hanover – Kiss And Grin) settled three back on the markers and was under pressure on the home turn but kicked on reasonably well for second. LORIMERMAJOR (Art Major – Rose of Hollywood) settled four back on the markers and was racing greenly in the back straight but gained a stroke of fortune when BONTON SUNSHINE galloped, which allowed him to dash to the front. He finished third in front of KIT COPPERFIELD (Auckland Reactor – Diligent Moon 2.1.5, $43,468), which was struggling in last position a long way from home and only beat the mistake maker BONTON SUNSHINE to the line.

Trial 9: - TIP TOP EURASIAN was able to jump to the front from the standing start and led throughout to win easily. BEAU GARCON was beaten by a long way but he settled fourth on the markers and he was picking up good ground late. DANCINGALLALONE galloped away and was tailed off for the majority of the trial. She did plenty of chasing and produced a big performance to get into third. ZINGARA LASS tired into fourth after trailing the leader and YANKEE TWISTER (Yankee Spider – Telern Grace) dropped out to finish last after being three back on the markers throughout.

BENDIGO 15/12/19

Trial 1: - ALDEBARAN PHOEBE (Yield Boko – Aldebaran Peggy) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane to zip through and take out the opening trial. SENTIMENTAL WIND finished second after stepping to the lead and setting up a slow tempo. THE LAST SON (Majestic Son – Shine On Alisha $34,001) was the slowest to begin and settled down last of the three runners. He moved up without cover from the mile marker and peaked late to finish in third position.

Mile Rate: - 2.13.7           Final Half: - 64.0               Margins: - 6m, 3m

Trial 2: - KHEIRON began well and was without cover early before progressing to the lead with a mile remaining. He ran through a quick final half and proved too strong in the run to the judge. FIREPLAY trailed the leader then was shuffled back to being the third horse on the markers. He finished off well for second with ELLENKATE being third after leading out then taking cover. SANDS OF ZANZIBAR raced one out and one back for the majority of the journey and came out three horses wide from the 500m mark. He battled on reasonably well for fourth ahead of RAANI, which picked up a few from last of the seven. VILLAGE FLING (Fling It – Bonnie Cheval) was sixth on the outside throughout and beat home SPECULATOR, which was left stranded without cover mid-race and yielded ground from the 500m mark.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.7             Final Half: - 57.7               Margins: - 5m, 4m

Trial 3: - COMANDANTE progressed forward to lead comfortably and was always in control. He dashed clear approaching the final corner and scored by a large margin. RIGONDEAUX settled three back on the markers and worked into second position ahead of VINCENT KAI, which trailed the leader throughout. LOTTA FUSS was in last position and was checked by the galloping ANGSKI (Angus Hall – Skye Rocket 2.5.1, $118,885) approaching the home turn. They finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.0             Final Half: - 59.6               Margins: - 10m, head

Trial 4: - COSTLY MISTAKE (McArdle – Costly Bonus 2.3.8, $4,450) showed good gate speed to lead and was able to set up a slow tempo. He sprinted up the straight quickly and was able to hold his rivals safely at bay. TIPOFTHETONGUE (He’s Watching – Sheza Sweetheart 2.1.0, $6,845) settled three back on the markers, moved up without cover from the 600m mark and battled on well for second. NANANELLIE (Somebeachsomewhere – Aventura) trailed the leader throughout and finished in third position in front of the juvenile pacer IRE OF THE DRAGON (Auckland Reactor – Highview Ember 1.53.3, $122,798), which was fourth throughout. MOZZARELLA MAN (Betterthancheddar – She’s High Maintenance) settled fifth, moved onto the back of TIPOFTHETONGUE at the 600m mark but struggled to keep in touch and finished last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: - 2.6.2             Final Half: - 60.2               Margins: - 4m, 8m

Trial 5: - LOCHIVAR ART settled last of the three runners, moved to the death seat at the 500m mark and ambled to an easy victory. BOY FROM BONDI led out then took cover and worked past ACE DUIGAN, which found the lead with 1200m remaining but couldn’t repel the two challengers.

COBRAM 15/12/19

Trial 1: - NOR NOR WEST began brilliantly to find the lead and backed off the tempo mid-race. OUR SUMMER BAY made a challenge from three back on the markers in the latter stages but NOR NOR WEST was able to fight on and get the prize. STARESS finished third after trailing the leader and RENWAY REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Aspire To Glory) was last of the four runners throughout.

Trial 2: - SCORCHA (Courage Under Fire – Under The Mattress) is a brother to the former outstanding pacer Smolda and took out the second trial after racing three back on the markers and sustaining a good run at the finish. SHEEZABAY (Alta Christiano – Pacific Made) set up the speed and finished in second position ahead of ASTERISM (Four Starzzz Shark – Rutherglen Ruby 1.58.0, $18,068), which came from last of the four. MYBOYMYBOY saw the field safely home after trailing the leader for the majority of the trip.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.9             Final Half: - 60.5               Margins: - Neck, 5m

Trial 3: - AMELIA WEALTH (Auckland Reactor – Life Savings 1.57.9, $33,115) was without cover early before angling onto the markers to trail the leader. She came to the outside as the field turned for home and was able to get the better of FALLING SHARDS in the latter stages. FALLING SHARDS was four back on the inside and moved up without cover in the back straight on the final occasion. She drew to the lead on the home turn but was gunned down late. GET ME OUTTA HERE was three back on the inside throughout and finished third in front of the early leader BONNIE TAYLAH (All Speed Hanover – Bonny Spur) with the trotter MOTORING HALL, which steered a wide course around the first bend, being last throughout.

MELTON 17/12/19

Trial 1: - MUSZTANG settled down six back on the markers and was saved for one last crack at the leaders. He was the widest runner into the front straight and finished off strongly to gain the day. PEANDAVASDELIGHT (Pet Rock – Libby’s First) settled down last and moved into the one out and two back position with 800m remaining. She moved up to hit the lead in the straight but couldn’t repel the late challenge of MUSZTANG. MINUSCULE (Bettors Delight – Our Petite Soeur 1.57.6, $73,930) settled four back on the markers and moved up without cover from the half mile marker. She boxed on for third in front of REDFOX RAIDER (Courage Under Fire – Fine Exception 1.59.9, $6,425), which shot up into the one out and one back trail from second last in the turn into the back straight on the final occasion. TERROR BULL GIRL settled three back on the inside and finished in fourth position ahead of the early leader SPORTS WRACK. AMALFI COAST was four back on the inside and galloped momentarily half way down the back straight. He beat home CALYPSO MISTRESS, which trailed the leader and yielded ground from the 300m.

Trial 2: - LIFTNTORQUE was able to lead throughout and took out the trial softly without being extended. KONAN gave driver Kate Gath a terrible time as he over-raced extremely badly from the score up until near the end. He was last of the three for most of the way and under the circumstances, to pick up as much ground as he did was a fantastic effort. FRANCO finished last after trailing the leader throughout.

Trial 3: - JAMIESON STEELE trailed the leader ILLAWONG CLASS and came to the outside on the home turn. The pair staged a good battle down the straight but JAMIESON STEELE was just able to get up and win on the line. LET’S GO BETTER settled three back on the markers and was chipping away down the straight to finish third. AHA REACTION was seven back on the markers in last position at the bell and made up ground in the last lap to finish fourth. GEE SMITH (Sportswriter – Our Burning Desire 1.55.9, $81,250) came from five back on the markers and moved up without cover with 700m remaining. He finished ahead of WILL I ROCKNROLL, which trailed him throughout and MELCHOIR dropped off from four back on the markers and finished last of the seven runners.

Trial 4: - ORCHID STRIDE (American Ideal – Modern Day 1.58.3, $56,314) began quickly to lead, took cover then circled around to find the front again so she won quite nicely. HOLI STARZZZ (Four Starzzz Shark – Paintball 1.54.4, $100,508) settled in sixth position and moved out three horses wide from the 600m mark. She worked home nicely out wide on the track to finish second. MISS TYLER (Well Said – Fine Exception 1.59.9, $6,425) settled three back on the markers before moving into the death seat with 800m remaining. He battled on well for third in front of ULTIMATE EXCLUSIVE (Art Major – Saved A Corka 1.59.1, $130,397), which did a good job as he was a clear last in the back straight and made up good ground out wide on the track. JO ROCKS (Pet Rock – Our Ruby Banner 1.54.0, $101,040) settled down in fourth position and moved into the one out and one back trail in the final lap. She finished fourth in front of DOUBLE HAPPINESS (Rock N Roll Heaven – Our Waltzing Mathilda 1.57.7, $12,131), which pushed forward to lead then took a trail with 1200m remaining.

Trial 5: - ANDOVER SUN pushed forward to find the lead and dominated the trial from the first turn onwards. He went to the line under his own steam and was able to win effortlessly. BILL DISPUTE settled three back on the markers and used the sprint lane to drive into second position ahead of DARING ANGEL, which trailed the leader. RED WHITE AN BLOOM (Orlando Vici – Moyabamba 1.59.3, $83,242) was four back on the markers throughout and wasn’t extended at any stage. ALDEBARAN SUNNY (Skyvalley – Sundonna) and ALDEBARAN YOLANDA (Andover Hall – Charming Yankee) both made errors in the score up or at the start and finished fifth and sixth respectively.

Mile Rate: - 2.4.3             Final Half: - 59.68             Margins: - 7.5m, ½ head

Trial 6: - BEACH GARDEN settled last of the three runners and produced a devastating turn of speed to run over the top of her rivals. Considering the final quarter was run in 26.74 seconds, her effort was brilliant. DEMON DELIGHT led and was run down but he couldn’t have run his last quarter much quicker so he was far from disappointing. BEACH SURGE only dropped off in the final 75m and was last of the three after trailing the leader throughout.

BLACKBOOKER: - Beach Garden

Trial 7: - ICONIC MAJOR is a lightly raced and smart pacer that was able to defeat the impressive type HOLY BASIL in a very slick mile rate of 1.55.9. HULI NIEN hasn’t raced since contesting a Breeders Crown Heat in August and was able to finish in third position ahead of MAXINES DELIGHT. LOUIS SEDGWICK was fifth ahead of MOLLYWOOD.

Trial 8: - LIZZADRO showed very good gate speed to lead and rolled along at an even tempo. He held on well down the straight and got the prize. MESSERATI settled four back on the markers and worked home nicely into second position ahead of FIGHTING FIRE, which was one position ahead in the run and moved up without cover in the back straight. ALICE KAY finished on nicely from last for an eye-catching fourth. AMENDMENT THIRTEEN dropped back to fifth after trailing the leader and ANODOUBT (5 back the markers) was at the tail of the field.

Trial 9: - LETHAL LOVER settled three back on the markers before making a move at the mile marker to momentarily lead then take cover. She loomed up to hit the lead with 150m remaining but wanted to switch off in the straight and only just won at the finish. EXPRESS BEAUTY was last early but made a lightning move around the field to find the front in the back straight on the first occasion. She was headed by LETHAL LOVER early in the straight but kicked back determinedly and only went down narrowly. SOEXTRA ended up being last of the six runners coming up to the bell but moved into a nice trail in the final circuit and was doing his best work at the end, finishing in third. PRIDDY ARTFUL pushed forward to lead shortly after the start and ended up being three back on the markers. She finished in front of BEAU HEART, which moved up without cover from the 1100m mark and FROSOS GIRL, which was actually the early leader before being shuffled back to fourth mid-race.

Trial 10: - MAJESTIC DREAM settled four back on the markers and trailed into the race nicely before running home well at the finish. She was able to get the better of YOUNEEDABITOFMUSCLE in the final 100m to win the trial by two and a half metres. YOUNEEDABITOFMUSCLE trailed the leader SHOWEMYOURMUSCLES and moved to the outside with 500m remaining. He finished second in front of TAM OSHANTER, which picked up ground from second last. SPECIAL INTEREST (Yankee Spider – Dream Interest) was three back on the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage. He worked home reasonably well once clear and finished ahead of SHOWEMYOURMUSCLES with DONTOUCH THE DUCO being last throughout.

Trial 11: - NIGHT SPIRIT showed very good gate speed to lead and never appeared to be in any danger of defeat. He controlled the race to suit himself and went to the line with something in reserve. MAKE ME HAPPY trailed the leader throughout and finished second with JESSIES GIRL following the pegs throughout on the back of MAKE ME HAPPY and finishing third. AUNTIE POPPY settled in last position, moved up without cover from the bell and battled on well for fourth ahead of HECTOR MACRAY, which was four back on the markers throughout. MOONLIGHT DREAM settled second last and tried to follow up behind AUNTIE POPPY. She remained second last at the finish, beating home THE NIGHT TERROR (Western Terror – Music Of The Night) (5 back markers), which yielded ground with 300m remaining.

Trial 12: - MONARO MARO stepped away well and angled in behind the leader TEETREETOMMY. He came to the outside with a half mile remaining and slipped home in an impressive final half to obliterate his rivals by 34.5m. TEETREETOMMY kicked on for second after being headed in the back straight and ANYWHERE HUGO was third after being three back on the markers throughout. BULLION LADY was slowly away from the standing start and settled down in fourth position, which is where she remained. QUEEN OF EURASIA (Bacardi Lindy – Maori Missile 2.4.6, $1,203) stepped away okay but broke stride approximately 100m after the start and was always at the tail of the field after that.
