Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for Thursday's nine-race card at Kilmore.

R1 – 6.03pm – C & M Build Group Pace – 1690m

4 – Edwarde Grange

11 – Nakula

3 – My Way

8 – Likeable Rogue

Edwarde Grange and Nakula are the two standout runners in this event. However, the short trip may be too challenging for Nakula from barrier 11. Edwarde Grange, on the other hand, is likely to push forward from barrier 4, and unless he gets caught in the breeze, he should be the one to beat.

BACK: 4 Edwarde Grange – 2 Units (win)

R2 – 6.37pm – Carlton & United Breweries Pace – 1690m

9 – Home And Dry

4 – Royal Edard

13 – Iamawingate

1 – Friends

R3 – 7.06pm – Beraldo Coffee 3yo Maiden Pace – 1690m

8 – Apollostorm

10 – The Wise Guy

7 – Fifty Seven Chevy

4 – Ima Tiggy Tiger

Apollostorm is a very talented horse, but he is first-up here and has drawn an awkward barrier. The first starter, The Wise Guy, has won both of his trials and is impeccably bred, coming from the brilliant Shane Sanderson stable. He physically is an incredible looking horse and he is the best of the rest, so if Apollostorm gets stuck on the fence or faces any bad luck, The Wise Guy is right in this.

BACK: 10 The Wise Guy - 0.5 (win)/1.5 unit (place)

R4 – 7.36pm – Jet Roofing Concession Drivers Pace – 2180m

6 – Really Smartie

3 – Shezabluechip

7 – Kalkadoon Dreaming

4 – Lollipop

Really Smartie's recent sectional times have been notably better than the rest of the field. He doesn't have the best gate speed, so he may end up in an awkward position from barrier six. However, if he gets some luck and a good trail into the race, he will be the one to beat.

BACK: 6 Really Smartie - 0.5 (win)/1.5 unit (place)

R5 – 8.06pm – O'brien Electrical Pace – 2180m

4 – Blazin Heaven

5 – Lady In Line

1 – Clem Mcardle

8 – Cinquanta

Blazin Heaven has brilliant gate speed and the best recent sectional times in this event. If the horse drawn to his inside, Monsieur Flamel, parks him wide on the track, he may be in a bit of trouble. Otherwise, I do see him winning this event based on his recent form.

BACK: 4 Blazin Heaven – 2 Units (win)

R6 – 8.36pm – Mc Security Pace – 2180m

2 – Sunstar

7 – Shallow Beach

4 – Love A Belle

5 – Maywyns Jewel

The scratching of The Last Trip in this event has really boosted Sunstar's chances here. He has brilliant gate speed, and driver Ben Xiriha will make the most of being out in front. This looks like his race to get back into the winner's circle.

BACK: 2 Sunstar – 2 Units (win)

R7 – 9.06pm – Buds & Branches Florist Pace – 2180m

5 – Our Bella Lucia

1 – Ruby Wingate

3 – Foregone Conclusion

4 – Apache Plume

R8 – 9.36pm – Tab 4yo & Older Maiden Pace – 2180m

3 – Lively Rascal

8 – With In Reason

9 – Mister Evolution

6 – Scattershot

R9 – 10.13pm – Momentum Gaming Pace – 2180m

1 – Archaa

8 – Oh No Never Again

3 – That Maj Ya Look

5 – Martha Lavinia

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
