Craig Rail has done all of the form for Mildura’s big program on Friday

Race 1:
OVERVIEW: CHALKNCHEDDAR (5) settled three back on the markers and tried hard for third behind Talknplay at Swan Hill last outing. He appears to be very well placed against this field and is versatile enough to overcome the wide draw. STONEBRIDGE STAR (2) finished off fairly well for third behind Keayang Crippa at Mildura on October 20. This race is a little easier and he is worth thought again. DIAMOND KRUSHER (6) is a fast beginner and is a good chance of finding the lead despite being drawn on the outside of the front line. He led throughout at a Mildura victory on September 04 so he cannot be left out of calculations. BOHEMIAN BRAIDS (7) missed out at Swan Hill last week but he ran a very good race for second behind Talknplay (won again since) three starts ago so he is not without a chance.
SELECTIONS: CHALKNCHEDDAR (5), STONEBRIDGE STAR (2), DIAMOND KRUSHER (6), BOHEMIAN BRAIDS (7)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: LITLMAX (3) was driven with plenty of confidence on debut where she was headed off from the pole position and moved up without cover from the 1600m. She has ability and strikes a suitable field so she can go one better here. LATHER WITH FIRE (5) broke stride and lost her chance at her latest distant fourth but she has won a trial at Shepparton since and is a possible improver. CRUEL MISTRESS (6) finished off reasonably well from midfield when third behind Phils Boy in a race of similar standard last outing. She is widely drawn but is not without a chance. BRIEISBETTER (7) is an experienced maiden having had 65 attempts but she has been placed in two of her past three starts and she should enjoy an economical run from her trailing draw.

BACK: LITLMAX (3) – 1 unit (each way)
SELECTIONS: LITLMAX (3), LATHER WITH FIRE (5), CRUEL MISTRESS (6), BRIEISBETTER (7)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: THE LADYBIRD (2) did very well after being in the uncharacteristic role of parking without cover at her latest Kilmore third. She recorded a mile rate of 1.57.7 when she scored at Horsham prior and she should prove hard to beat again. HESASTAR (3) is a fast beginner and should give a forward showing from his good draw. He worked forward to find the lead and scored comfortably at Mildura on September 18. KEAYANG CRIPPA (5) gained a nice trail and finished off best to snare victory over HESASTAR (3) last outing. He is usually competitive against this class and is worth thought again. ROJENBYE (8) picked up some ground from midfield when fourth at Charlton last outing and is not without a chance.
SELECTIONS: THE LADYBIRD (2), HESASTAR (3), KEAYANG CRIPPA (5), ROJENBYE (8)
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: BRANSON (2) is a capable South Australian trained pacer, which led throughout to win in a mile rate of 1.57.3 at Gawler two starts ago. He is a good chance of finding the lead again and will take catching over the sprint distance. SUNSHINE WARRIOR (1) led throughout at a Mildura victory three starts ago and she didn’t have the best of luck from a wide alley at her latest fifth. She should receive the perfect trip from the pole position and is worth an investment. ASHANTE WARRIOR (7) is making his Mildura debut but his form in the South-East has been strong enough to be competitive against this class. He led throughout in a mile rate of 1.57.8 three starts ago. MASON DIXON LINE (3) hasn’t been able to draw on the front line for a long time so he gets his chance to improve under these conditions.
SELECTIONS: BRANSON (2), SUNSHINE WARRIOR (1), ASHANTE WARRIOR (7), MASON DIXON LINE (3)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: CELESTIAL STARLET (6) is a 2yo filly on debut but she has shaped up nicely at the trials with a win and a third at Maryborough to her credit. She obviously has ability and is likely to be strongly fancied. MISTER HENDRIX (5) has been unplaced in all of this three starts to date but his trial form is far stronger than his race form. He strikes a suitable assignment at his first run since March and he is worth respect. MISS CULLEN (7) trailed the leader and dropped out at the end when last of seven at Swan Hill last outing. She met a much stronger field last time out and was runner up at her previous two attempts so she must be considered as a place hope again. THE MIGHTY CAESAR (3) is a first starter for trainer Boris Devcic, which has had numerous trial attempts and is worth thought in multiple combinations.
SELECTIONS: CELESTIAL STARLET (6), MISTER HENDRIX (5), MISS CULLEN (7), THE MIGHTY CAESAR (3)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: RUFF NUT (6) progressed forward to race without cover and fought on strongly when a brave second behind Chase The Stars at Globe Derby last outing. He is a tough campaigner and looms as one of the leading chances. DALLAS MIKI (8) is a bold front running pacer, which is unsuited being drawn on the second row but is sure to make his presence felt. He was held up for a run at a vital stage and locked wheels momentarily turning for home when an unlucky fourth in the Swan Hill Cup last week. THE GOLDEN HOOK (7) is racing in career best form but this is his toughest test to date. He sustained a long run when he got up to defeat Keayang Shadowbox at Mildura last outing. ROYAL SAXON (3) settled in the second half of the field and tried to sustain a long run from the 800m when a game third at Mildura last outing. He should go well again from his good draw.
SELECTIONS: RUFF NUT (6), DALLAS MIKI (8), THE GOLDEN HOOK (7), ROYAL SAXON (3)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5) settled in the second half of the field and finished off strongly for a game third in the Swan Hill Cup last week. He led throughout to win comfortably when resuming at Mildura on September 30 and is clearly the horse to beat again. HOT DEAL (7) commenced from the inside of the second line, was held up behind tiring runners and finished off fairly well for fifth at Globe Derby last outing. He boasts a very strong record at Mildura and will run his usual honest race if he has normal luck in running from the awkward draw. PRIORITISE (8) settled in the second half of the field, came out three horses wide over the latter stages and produced a strong finish to win at Mildura last outing. This race is of similar standard and he looms as one of the leading chances again. MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (1) is a strong pacer, which will take tossing if he can hold a forward position at the start. He was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off solidly for a close up third at Swan Hill last outing.

BACK: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5), HOT DEAL (7), PRIORITISE (8), MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (1)
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: ARMOURY (6) is a former New South Wales pacer, which joins trainer Alex Ashwood. She was shuffled back in the field mid-race and failed to run on at Penrith last outing but was a winner on that track three starts ago and strikes a suitable assignment at her Mildura debut. EAGLEYE (1) has been placed in four of her past five starts and is perfectly drawn to run a good race again. She commenced from the inside of the second line, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for second at Swan Hill last outing. LORD MYRMECIA (8) failed to run on as expected at Kapunda last outing but he finished fast for an eye-catching second at Globe Derby prior and has performed well at Mildura previously so he cannot be left out of calculations. CELESTIAL NEBULAE (10) has the ability to figure in the finish but he wanted to hang in badly on the bends at Globe Derby last outing so being drawn on the second line will be a disadvantage.
SELECTIONS: ARMOURY (6), EAGLEYE (1), LORD MYRMECIA (8), CELESTIAL NEBULAE (10)
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: BETTORBUST (3) finished second behind the smart pacer Delizioso at Shepparton last outing and was a runaway winner at Mildura prior. He is the class runner of the field and will prove extremely hard to beat. CAULONIA TERROR (4) settled three back on the markers, got caught up behind tiring horses and lost approximately five lengths with 700m remaining so he did well to recover and finish in third behind Lower Manhattan last outing. He was unlucky in that performance and is worth a ticket each way. FLAME BLASTER (2) performs best when he is able to trail the leader so he is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern. He was runner up from behind the leader last outing and is a strong place chance again. OZZIE DAYBREAK (9) has performed extremely well in two starts back from a spell and rates as a value hope.

BACK: BETTORBUST (3) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: BETTORBUST (3), CAULONIA TERROR (4), FLAME BLASTER (2), OZZIE DAYBREAK (9)
Race 10:
OVERVIEW: BANDIT EYES (9) endured a tough run and dropped out at Metropolitan level last outing. He led throughout to score in a sizzling mile rate of 1.53.2 at Melton back in August and is the class runner of this field. MIDNIGHT PIRATE (2) was caught wide early, restrained to being five back on the markers mid-race and worked home well for fourth at Swan Hill last outing. He is a fast beginner and is racing in good form so a bold showing is expected. HAPPY AS CAN BE (5) competed in the South Australian Cup series, where seventh in the Final so he is likely to find this race to be easier. He had his chance when second at Globe Derby last week but warrants consideration. SHIRLEY NOT (6) is racing in career best form and is worth thought along with the handy sprinter GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7).

BACK: BANDIT EYES (9) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: BANDIT EYES (9), MIDNIGHT PIRATE (2), HAPPY AS CAN BE (5), GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7)
