Ryan Phelan has outlined his selections and suggested game plan for tonight's 9-race card at Ararat.

R1 – 5:39pm – Mick O’Brien Memorial Pace - 1790m

3 – Alpha Crucis

2 – Kimchi

1 – Snazola

11 – Emer

Alpha Crucis has been consistent without winning of late and doesn't strike an overly strong race here. Has good early gate speed and is worth a speck at big odds.

BACK: 3 Alpha Crucis – .5 Units (win) .5 Units (place)

R2 – 6:12pm – Ararat Advocate 2 & 3yo Pace – 1790m

10 – Our Better Bro

2 – Im Lord Tommy

9 – Ynobe Nova

1 – Thinkfast Runfast

R3 – 6:42pm – Ian Shalders Memorial Maiden Pace – 2195m

6 – Riviera Rose

3 – Quick Decision

10 – Goodtime Mae

9 – Cincinnati

R4 – 7:17pm – Ararat Premix Maiden Trot – 2195m

1 – Mac Flick

11 – Hillwinsome

8 – Blitzer I Hope

5 – Prosperous

Connections of Mac Flick thought enough of her to throw her into the Vicbred series and performed incredibly well against rising star Keayang Zahara. She drew wide there, went back to last and ran home well in a fast last quarter. Slight concern with her gate speed but if she lives up to her last run, she will be winning.

BACK: 1 Mac Flick – 3 Units (win)

R5 – 7:52pm – Ararat RSL Trotters Handicap – 2165m

7 – Fremarks Peggy

6 – Cadence Lane

9 – Poppy Popstar

11 – Majestic Ga Ga

Fremarks Peggy is dropping sharply in class racing in the Vicbred series behind the ultra-smart Susan Is Her Name. She got things wrong early there and despite that, she still found the line strongly. Her form prior was solid and she has sound standing start manners.

BACK: 7 Fremarks Peggy – 2 Units (win)

R6 – 8:25pm – John Dalton Memorial Pace – 2195m

9 – We Favour Rosie

6 – Eastbro Chrissy

7 – Eastbro Jesse

1 – Thelongroadnowhere

R7 – 9:01pm – Join Ararat Harness Today 0-2 LTW Pace – 1790m

5 – Luva Scrap

8 – She Really Matters

3 – Deebraxton

1 – Thelongroadnowhere

Luva Scrap was terrific last start at Melton when he worked hard to find the lead and was narrowly beaten on the line. This race shapes as a much easier assignment and even if he has to sit parked, may be too strong.

BACK: 5 Luva Scrap – 1 Units (win)

R8 – 9:32pm – Noel Hurd Memorial NMW Pace – 1790m

8 – Heavenly Gipsy

2 – Marty The Martian

6 – El Boston

5 – City Rockstar

Heavenly Gipsy is particularly well graded in this line up and she has a terrific map to boot, with a lot of speed off the front row. Greg Sugars is one of the best drivers in the country will time his run to perfection.

BACK: 8 Heavenly Gipsy – 2 Units (win)

R9 – 10:06pm – David O Jones Mitre 10 Pace – 1790m

7 – Bizzness Class

5 – Lenard Ess

4 – Kathys Free

3 – Fourth In line

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
