Ryan Phelan has outlined his selections and suggested game plan for tonight's 8-race card at Shepparton.

R1 – 5:55pm – Neatline Homes Pace - 2190m

9 – Ready To Rock

11 – Eye See Philtra

13 – Bandit Eyes

4 – Good Tobe Locksley

Ready To Rock gets no favours with the barrier draw and on face value needs a lot of luck. However, there may be good speed early here which could set it up for one with fresh legs. Ready To Rock is dropping in class and races best with one dash at them so he’s worth a speck at odds.

BACK: 9 Ready To Rock – .5 Unit (win) / 1.5 Unit (place)

R2 – 6:27pm – Cottrells Electrical Pace – 1690m

9 – Jaccka Connor

6 – Tooram Cee Cee

11 – Hoorah Philtra

4 – Wind Sock

Jaccka Connor gets into a very suitable race here thanks to Tasmyn Potter’s claim. Whilst the mile is tricky the trailing draw should see him into a reasonable position. He’s had no luck his past couple in harder grade at Melton, he should be charging late.

BACK: 9 Jaccka Connor – 2 Units (win)

R3 – 7:00pm – Your Sold Real Estate Pace – 2190m

10 – Better Saint

3 – Mynameisruby

8 – Lorimermajor

6 - Arraps

Better Saint was game in defeat last start when forced to sit parked when narrowly beaten. I think if he can get to the chair reasonably cheaply he can out-tough them in the straight.

BACK: 10 Better Saint – 2 Units (win)

R4 – 7:34pm – Saddleworld Shepparton Pace – 2190m

9 – Pete Mitchell

8 – Japanese Miki

1 – Heston Cash

3 – Final Bow

R5 – 8:08pm – Hunter Rural Trot – 1690m

10 – Whats The Tea

4 – Tetra

11 – Tiney

9 – Mach Maori

R6 – 8:42pm – Alabar Pace – 2190m

9 – Olly Odd Potts

7 – Salsboy

8 – Tex Goes Bang

1 – Pinnacle Hope

Olly Odd Potts has been very consistent the past couple of months and drops in grade to a very suitable race here. Donna Castles has options to press forward if the speed is too slow, so I’m not concerned with the draw.

BACK: 9 Olly Odd Potts – 1 Units (win)

R7 – 9:16pm – Grenada Park Trot – 2190m

8 – Partytime

6 – Glengarry Red

7 – Lots Of Change

2 – Astro

R8 – 9:47pm – Central Tyre Service Maiden Pace – 2190m

1 – Leniu

3 – Royle Blood

5 – Kyrgios

4 – Crazy On The Beach

Leniu has had two trials here at Shepparton which puts him in good shape for a debut victory. In his first trial he showed good speed to lead all the way. His second trial he was largely untested. This opposition isn’t overly strong, I think he dictate from the front.

BACK: 1 Leniu – 3 Units (win)

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
