My Field Marshall's path to Victoria's Inter Dominion could well be shaped by his performance in Saturday night's Blacks A Fake Queensland Championship.

Trainer Tim Butt joined Jason Bonnington and Blake Redden on RSN 927's Gait Speed today to talk the APG Grand Circuit Series finale at Albion Park, when his hopes will be pinned on My Field Marshall and Let It Ride.

Butt was optimistic his Miracle Mile winner, My Field Marshall, was well positioned to bounce back from his failure in the weekend's Sunshine Sprint, when he finished last and some 24m off Victorian owned winner Tact Tate.

"They've actually come through the race terrifically well, including (My) Field Marshall," Butt said. "While he was disappointing the other night, he checked out great Monday and Tuesday with the vet, so full steam ahead Saturday night.

"I think over the longer distance and if they go hard, (Field Marshall)'s a great horse when he's right. That's the sort of runs that suit him, that's the reason why he's won a lot of the bigger races and not so much the lesser races."

Anthony Butt will keep the reins of the Art Major six-year-old while New Zealand's Dexter Dunn will fly in to steer Let It Ride, who will start from gate three.

"Dexter won about four or five races with Let It Ride earlier in his career, so he's a worthy replacement and we look forward to him driving actually."
