Group 1-winning filly set to step out for new connections

As Andy Gath and owner Norm Jenkin negotiate life without trotting stars Tornado Valley and Mclovin at the racetrack, the recent acquisition of a Group 1-winning youngster has really given them something to get excited about.

Jenkin has purchased Breeders Crown two-year-old champion Just A Bit Touchy in partnership with Alabar and the Father Patrick filly is set to make her debut for the stable at Maryborough this Wednesday.

Just A Bit Touchy won four races while trained by Emma Stewart, including the $100,000 Breeders Crown Final in November last year.

On that occasion, she thrashed favouite and third placegetter Tough Love, who has since gone on to win the NSW Oaks at Group 1 level.

Just A Bit Touchy has drawn gate four for a Australasian Premier Trotting Sale 3YO Trotting Fillies heat at Maryborough, where she will be driven by Kate Gath.

Kate has partnered the horse in eight of her 10 starts to date.

Qualifiers from the APTS heats will progress to the $50,000 Group 1 final at Tabcorp Park Melton on August 13.
