HRV increases prizemoney for Breeders Crown Series finals

Heats for two-year-old and three-year-old filly trotters were abandoned this past Wednesday at Bendigo, prompting Harness Racing Victoria to boost this Saturday night’s finals for both divisions with an additional $10,000.

HRV funds all heats of the Breeders Crown Series, and given qualifiers were abolished for two-year-old and three-year-old trotting fillies due to a lighting issue at Lord’s Raceway, a decision has been made to inject the amount advertised from the heat into respective Group 2 finals at Melton Entertainment Park.

Three-year-old filly trotters will now compete for $70,000 and two-year-old filly trotters $60,000.

Harness Racing Victoria’s Race Cancellation Policy also has been applied to participants who did not contest their respective heats on Wednesday at Bendigo.

All Breeders Crown finals this year have been subsidised by industry payments.
