All's going to plan for team Cant Refuse with Matt Craven's six-year-old well-placed for a TAB Inter Dominion Grand Final berth after a peach of a lead-in.

Well-placed for peg runs and late bursts in his two runs to date, the barrier draw gods were again in Cant Refuse's favour for Saturday night's final ID18 heat at Cranbourne, where he will start from gate one.

It has the Bettors Delight gelding well positioned to build on his fifth and second placed finishings that has him sitting eighth in standings and has pleased Craven, who joined RSN 927's One Out One Back this morning.

"His two runs to date have been very pleasing, the best part about them is he's had an easy run in transit and got to the line terrific," Craven told hosts Trent Masenhelder and Cody Winnell.

"We can't be more happy with the way that he's handled the series so far ... but up in trip this week over the longer journey will sort a few out and test him."

While the final heat and grand final present plenty of challenges, Craven can't help but be well chuffed with Saturday night's gate one draw.

"You couldn't ask for anything better, he's still got to be good enough to get through this week. He definitely gets his chance," Craven said.

"The draw, on the fence around Cranbourne, should be ideal. You'd love to be able to hold up early and then pick one to hand up too. I imagine Tiger Tara will be charging forward, you'd love to sit on the back of him."
